Facing your fears and anxiety is a scary thing to do. That's why I will be alongside you each step of the way, showing you ways to understand and calm your anxiety and step out of your comfort zone at a pace that suits you. I work with general anxiety and lots of different phobias and I have a particular specialism in tokophobia, which is a fear of pregnancy and childbirth

Ruth Mark-Roland Psychotherapy
Registered Psychotherapist, Post Grad Diploma in Psychotherapy, Foundation and Diploma in Group Analysis
I offer support for anxiety and fear, including persistent worry, panic, social anxiety, and the underlying sense of unease that can shape everyday life. Many people I work with feel caught in cycles of overthinking, physical tension, avoidance, or a constant sense of being “on edge,” often without fully understanding why these patterns persist.
My approach is grounded in psychoanalytic and relational psychotherapy, which means we explore not only current symptoms, but also the deeper emotional and relational roots of anxiety. Together, we pay attention to unconscious patterns, early attachment experiences, and how past relationships may continue to shape present-day fears and responses.
Alongside this, I integrate somatic awareness to help you reconnect with your body and better understand how anxiety is held physically, such as through breath, tension, or nervous system activation. This can support greater regulation and a sense of grounding. Where appropriate, I may also use psychoeducation to help you understand what is happening in the mind and body during states of anxiety, which can reduce fear and increase a sense of control and clarity. I may also integrate EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques / tapping) as a tool to support emotional processing and calming the nervous system.
Therapy with me is collaborative and paced according to your needs. We work gently and steadily to help you develop greater awareness of your anxiety patterns, reduce their intensity over time, and build a more secure and grounded sense of self in relation to fear and uncertainty.

Kajal Sohal

Does your mind constantly race with worries, worst-case scenarios, or fears that make everyday life feel exhausting? Anxiety can affect your confidence, relationships, sleep, and ability to enjoy the present moment. Whether you're experiencing persistent worry, social anxiety, overwhelming stress, or fears that seem difficult to control, you deserve support that helps you feel more grounded and understood.
I offer affordable, compassionate counselling that combines Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) with a person-centred, culturally sensitive approach. Together, we can explore what's contributing to your anxiety, recognize unhelpful thought patterns, develop practical coping strategies, and gradually build confidence in situations that feel challenging.
My goal isn't to eliminate every uncomfortable feeling, but to help you develop a healthier relationship with uncertainty, strengthen your emotional resilience, and regain a greater sense of control over your life. You don't have to face your fears alone. I'd be honoured to support you in taking the next step toward greater peace of mind.
