This component is a stress management service that provides a range of tools which will assist in reducing stress by restoring the body and mind resiliency, and aptitude. The provider will ensure that individuals find happiness and break stress cycles by informing each individual about control strategies, such as relaxation exercises, meditation, avoidance mechanisms, and many other tools. This service is important because the provider will conduct an assessment and possibly create a plan which should layout abnormal behaviors, and prevent exacerbation of other stress-related complications. The plan will help to improve stressful behaviors and quality of life.
Stress affects a wide range of functioning if not managed effectively. We will identify and practice stress management strategies which best fit for you.
My approach included Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to find new balanced perspectives and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy to find new ways of coping with difficult emotions.

Stress can negatively affect every aspect of our lives: our thoughts, behaviors, relationships, work, sleep, health, and daily function. I help clients identify and address their stress triggers, so they can regain control of their lives. Treatment is tailored to each client's needs and goals. Common modalities used during therapy may include Crisis Intervention, EMDR, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Solution Focused Therapy. There may also be a focus on reducing physical symptoms of stress through relaxation, grounding techniques, and self-care.
We've all experienced stress - you are probably feeling it right now as you explore the possibility of working with a new therapist! Stress can feel like a boulder weighing you down, or a tiny thorn in the bottom of your foot that just never relents. The results of stress are many, as it can create and contribute to many different physical, emotional and cognitive symptoms. The good news is that there are strategies and tools that can help relieve the impacts of stress. The two primary therapeutic approaches that I use with clients are both evidence-based treatments for reducing symptoms of stress. Accelerated Resolution Therapy often reduces the negative emotional reaction to stress triggers in an average of 1 to 5 sessions. Cognitive Behavior Therapy helps clients identify and replace the unhelpful thinking that leads to uncomfortable feelings and less preferred actions, creating a change in perspective. Together, these two approaches can help bring faster relief from the impacts of stress and "clear your headspace" to learn new strategies and tools for helping yourself cope better with life's challenges.
How we handle stress is directly related to how well we function overall. When we're stressed, chemicals are released into our body that increase our heart rate, blood pressure and blood sugar levels. This is good in a stressful situation, but not so good when we're ALWAYS stressed. Being stressed without an equal, if not more, amount of time when we're relaxed can lead to mental and physical problems. The prevention? An ability to say "no" to the people, places and things that don't serve us and rob us of our most precious commodity: time.
