I am caring and non-judgmental; I realize that talking about problems can be difficult; however, clients find that sharing their concerns with an objective therapist enables them to progress to solutions quickly. I recognize that people seek therapy when what they have tried previously did not work.

I’ve spent a lot of time developing expertise in the issues I work with; however, I rely equally on my heart and gut sense in working with each client uniquely. I have a straightforward, common-sense style and know the value of elbow grease in making life changes. Trauma in all its forms is the thread that connects the different life problems I specialize in working with. I don’t believe in having only one tool in my toolbox, any more than I believe in having only one trauma treatment available to help you. Let’s figure out what tools work best for you, whether that be EMDR, Accelerated Resolution Therapy, Somatic Experiencing, Brain Spotting, Deep Brain Reorienting, or the Safe and Sound Protocol. Wichita Falls is a north Texas city near the Oklahoma border home to Sheppard Air Force Base, one of the largest Air Force training installations in the world and a NATO flight training center, which significantly shapes the local community and mental health landscape through a large and constantly rotating military population that creates specific needs around PCS (permanent change of station) transition stress, military family dynamics, and service-related mental health. Midwestern State University adds a student population to the city's character, and United Regional Health Care System provides behavioral health services to the community. The city's identity is defined by military service, Texas conservatism, and the particular social dynamics of a mid-size community whose economic and cultural life orbits significantly around a major federal installation. Common therapy concerns include military transition and family stress, deployment-related mental health, anxiety, depression, and the challenges of building lasting community roots in a city where a significant portion of the population is on orders and will move in two to four years.
