Transform from the Inside Out: Integrated Parts Work & Light Hypnotherapy Are you tired of just talking about your problems without feeling real, lasting change? As a therapist specializing in Internal Family Systems (IFS) and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), I help you go deeper by incorporating light hypnotherapy to facilitate profound inner transformation. Light hypnosis allows us to gently bypass the critical mind, creating a safe, calm space to connect directly with the "parts" of you holding old, stuck patterns or pain. IFS & Hypnotherapy: We will gently "unblend" from overwhelming protective parts, allowing you to access your compassionate "Self" and heal wounded, exiled parts. EFT & Light Trance: We use the calm, focused state of hypnotherapy to deepen emotional regulation and reframe negative thought patterns, transforming your relationship with yourself and others. This integrative approach helps you release emotional burdens, reduce anxiety, and foster a compassionate inner world—all while remaining fully aware and in control. Ready to feel lighter and more integrated? Let’s work together to unlock your inner capacity for healing and self-compassion.

In my practice, I integrate Ericksonian hypnosis. This method is more than just suggestion in a trance state; it's a client-centered approach that emphasizes the mobilization of individual resources and abilities. My training in Ericksonian hypnosis equips me to work with a variety of concerns, seamlessly incorporating this technique into different treatment modalities. In each session, I focus on bringing your innate strengths and capabilities to the forefront, ensuring they are accessible and potent in times of need. This process is highly collaborative, valuing your active participation as we navigate the therapeutic journey together. Through hypnotherapy, we aim to unlock your potential, fostering resilience and self-efficacy in facing life's challenges.

What is Hypnotherapy? Hypnosis is not therapy in and of itself. Rather, therapy can be conducted in hypnosis, which is known as hypnotherapy. Hypnosis is a state of relaxation and concentration at one with the state of heightened awareness induced by suggestion. It is a natural trance state, like daydreaming, when the mind is relaxed and focused, where time passes very quickly, accompanied by good feelings of deep relaxation of mind and body. Hypnotherapy is a treatment that is based on the premise that the mind and body do not work in isolation. By helping the client into a relaxed state, the therapy aims to trigger the body’s mental and physical self-healing processes that lie in the subconscious. When most people encounter the word hypnosis, a picture comes to their mind of a hypnotist swinging an object in front of their face, however, that is not how hypnotherapy works. Hypnotherapy is a state of deep relaxation in which the subconscious mind is extraordinarily receptive to positive thoughts and suggestions. It is not something a hypnotherapist does to you, but it is something you give to yourself. Through hypnotherapy, your fears, pains, anxieties, grief, and anger and subsequent behaviors can be worked with, modified and healed, all to benefit you. Anybody can allow himself or herself into a hypnotic state; it is not a sign of gullibility or suggestibility on the part of the client. Hypnotherapy induces a state of relaxation and concentration that is a natural manifestation of the mind at work. Hypnotherapy does not make you do anything you don't want to do. Rather, you are in a tranquil state of relaxation, and your imagination will help guide you to the past memories that desire healing. While in this state, you are fully aware of what’s going on around you and you respond only to prompts that are right for and benefit your quest for healing those old patterns and beliefs. You cannot be induced to do anything against your will or to bring up issues you are not prepared to work through. I am trained in a specialized form of Hypnotherapy called RIM, Regenerating Images in Memory. Regenerating Images in Memory, is a powerful mind/body technique that helps to swiftly identify and remove emotional blocks as well as self-sabotaging beliefs that hold us back from experiencing a healthy, happy, vibrant life. RIM is a revolutionary whole-brain method, grounded in neuroscience, that naturally processes emotion. Working first with raw emotion, rather than thought, RIM allows for profound change at a visceral level. RIM is a transformational, verbal technique that quickly and easily releases stuck negative emotional memories and regenerates them into positive ones. RIM helps identify and dissolve the hidden blocks to success, making change easier and sometimes instantaneous. RIM can be thought of as a whole-brained way to expand on these concepts. The left hemisphere of our brain works in language, thoughts and ideas. It’s how we try to change our perspective, calculate, think, and figure things out. The right hemisphere of our brain works in images and metaphor. The genius of RIM is, how we can use spontaneous imagination (even if you don't think you are imaginative) to create a whole-brain experience, accelerating the discovery of insights and freedom that, as a self-generated and felt experience, is far more powerful than the traditional intellectual perspective shift alone.

Hypnosis is a valuable method that can be used as an adjunct to other therapies or as a free standing therapy. I am one of a relatively small group of therapists authorized to provide a specialized hypnotherapy protocol to treat irritable bowel syndrome, IBS. For many years, I used hypnosis in the treatment of smoking and other addictions. In my work with athletes, hypnosis is quite useful in improving performance. Hypnosis can also be helpful in managing sleep issues including insomnia.
