Jade at We Tackle Trauma

Counsellor/Therapist, MSW, QTS, BSc (Hons)
I combine lived experience, with experience managing support for LQBQTIA+SB communities, with managing change management initiatives to ensure that our community is better supported by public health and community services. I value the full diversity of our community, and I will recognise you with the pronouns, name, and gender (or lack of gender) presentation that represents you and your wishes. Whether you are navigating trauma, general wellbeing, relationships and family dynamics, or you are seeking to work with someone to progress your career; I am here and super happy to help. As a non traditional therapist I offer creative therapies in addition to more standard approaches. Work with me if you are looking for a unique and tailored approach from a professional who fully sees you, and who is super happy to co-create your support and sessions; to ensure that they align with your needs, requirements, and happiness. Consults are free and instantly bookable on the We Tackle Trauma website, I look forward to meeting you- Jade Evelyn Gayle

Colin Longworth - HPCCH Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Psychology & Counselling Services

Psychologist, MAPS, B Psych ECowan, GradDipCounselMurdoch,
As a mature-aged Gay man myself, I have "been around" long enough to have experienced a range of things that a younger Gay person may not have. These include the Gay male sex being illegal; the devastation of HIV/AIDS; the Marriage Equality debates; issues around "Special Religious Rights"; discrimination and "less than equal" treatment. I combine this knowledge and experience with my psychology, counselling and clinical hypnotherapy training, to seek to assist clients. This is also assisted by regularly reading relevant books and research, on e.g. Heterosexism or homophobia, developing and strengthening resilience to microaggression's etc. One thing I regularly do, (not just for LGB clients, but clients in general) is suggest books to read, or movies to watch, that may be of use, or as something to prompt thought on aspects of what the client has come to see me about. Although I've had a few trans clients, issues around transition are not really a subject I feel competent to deal with, although I certainly feel I may be able to assist with discrimination and related issues, apart from issues around microaggression's, anxiety, depression and the collection of other issues clients may come to see me about.
