I was working as a teaching artist and performer when one of my students—a boy on the autism spectrum—joined my class at his therapist's suggestion.Watching him open up and grow through creative expression was incredible. That's when it clicked for me: the arts and therapy together were something powerful, something I needed to understand more deeply. The next fall, I enrolled at New York University for my master's degree. Now this is what I do!
