Treatment Approach

  • Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT) Helps people accept difficult thoughts and feelings instead of fighting them, while committing to actions that reflect their values. It blends mindfulness with practical behavior strategies.
  • Christian Counseling Blends psychological practices with Christian values and scripture. It provides faith-based support for life challenges and spiritual growth.
  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) One of the most widely used approaches, CBT helps people identify unhelpful thoughts and replace them with healthier patterns. It is effective for anxiety, depression, and many other concerns.
  • Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) An evidence-based treatment for PTSD that teaches clients to reframe unhelpful thoughts about trauma. It helps reduce guilt, shame, and fear.
  • Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) Combines CBT with mindfulness to help regulate emotions, tolerate stress, and build stronger relationships. Originally designed for borderline personality disorder, it’s now used more broadly.
  • Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) Focuses on strengthening emotional bonds in couples or families. It helps people identify negative cycles and create more secure connections.
  • Family Systems Therapy Looks at problems within the context of the family as a whole. It aims to improve communication and balance in family relationships.
  • Gestalt Therapy Encourages awareness of thoughts, feelings, and actions in the present moment. It helps people integrate different parts of themselves for wholeness.
  • Gottman Method Couples Therapy Based on decades of research, this method gives couples tools to improve communication, manage conflict, and strengthen intimacy.
  • Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) Combines mindfulness practices with CBT to prevent depression relapse. It helps people notice thoughts without judgment and respond more calmly.
  • Narrative Therapy Encourages people to view problems as separate from themselves and reframe their life story. It helps build resilience and self-identity.
  • Person-Centered Therapy (Rogerian) Emphasizes empathy, unconditional positive regard, and authenticity. It provides a safe space for self-discovery and growth.
  • Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) Focuses on solutions and future goals rather than past problems. It is practical, short-term, and goal-driven.
Approach Description: I offer structured, compassionate therapy that blends skills and insight. We’ll co-create clear goals, then use CBT/ACT/DBT for practical tools, and trauma-focused methods (CPT/TF-CBT) to resolve roots so change lasts. For couples, I draw on Gottman Method Level-1 to de-escalate conflict, rebuild friendship/meaning, and strengthen trust. Sessions are paced to your nervous system, culturally aware, and—if you choose—integrate faith. Expect homework that fits your life, regular check-ins on progress, and a steady partner in your corner.

Ade Adebowale Practice Description
I’m a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) with training in CBT, ACT, DBT, CPT/TF-CBT, and Level-1 Gottman Method for couples. My style is client-centred and culturally attuned: we set goals together, track progress, and flex the approach to fit you—not the other way around. Common outcomes include calmer days, more confident decision-making, and relationships that feel safer and more connected. What to expect: In our first session we’ll map your story, clarify what’s most important right now, and create a plan you can trust. From there, we’ll blend practical skills (thought/behavior tools, emotion regulation, communication frameworks) with deeper work that resolves the roots—so change lasts. For couples, we’ll stabilize conflict, rebuild friendship/meaning, and practice evidence-based exercises between sessions. Who I help: Adults navigating anxiety, low mood, grief and life transitions; survivors of difficult or traumatic experiences; couples preparing for marriage or repairing after distance, conflict, or betrayal; and individuals moving through separation/divorce with dignity. If you’re looking for a therapist who is both compassionate and structured, I’d be honoured to meet you. Book a free 15-minute consult to see if we’re a good fit
