I'm Dr. Anna Smith (she/her), a Licensed Psychologist and Certified Sex Therapist. I offer online sex therapy, couples therapy, & relationship counseling across the US in 40+ states — for people who want deeper intimacy, more honest communication, & relationships that feel good. What makes my practice different is that it’s built entirely around deep relational and sexual intimacy—nothing else. With over a decade focused exclusively on couples and sex therapy, AASECT certification, and advanced training in Emotionally Focused Therapy and trauma-informed care, I’m not a generalist who happens to see couples; this is the work I love. Clients tell me they finally feel seen, supported, and gently challenged in the exact ways they need. If you care deeply about your relationship (or your relationship with yourself) but feel stuck, exhausted by the same patterns, or unsure how to talk about sex without shame, I’d be honored to help. You deserve a therapist who specializes in exactly what you’re struggling with—and who can help you create the safety, closeness, and pleasure you’ve been longing for. Let’s talk.

Treatment Approach

  • Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT) Helps people accept difficult thoughts and feelings instead of fighting them, while committing to actions that reflect their values. It blends mindfulness with practical behavior strategies.
  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) One of the most widely used approaches, CBT helps people identify unhelpful thoughts and replace them with healthier patterns. It is effective for anxiety, depression, and many other concerns.
  • Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) Focuses on strengthening emotional bonds in couples or families. It helps people identify negative cycles and create more secure connections.
  • Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) Combines mindfulness practices with CBT to prevent depression relapse. It helps people notice thoughts without judgment and respond more calmly.
Approach Description: My approach is authentic, warm, and deeply relational. I draw primarily from Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), attachment theory, and trauma-informed care because these frameworks help us understand the emotional patterns and protective strategies that get in the way of the closeness you want. Together we’ll slow down and get curious about what’s happening beneath the surface—whether that’s a repeating conflict cycle, sexual shutdown, shame that’s been carried for years, or the way past experiences still live in your body and your relating. I’m collaborative and direct: I’ll listen with genuine compassion, reflect what I’m hearing, and gently challenge you (or both of you) when it serves your goals. We talk openly about sex, desire, pleasure, and intimacy without flinching or judgment because these are normal, important parts of being human that deserve real attention. At the same time, we explore vulnerability, emotional safety, and new ways of reaching for each other so that connection starts to feel safe rather than scary. Progress happens at your pace. Many clients notice meaningful shifts within the first 6–12 sessions; others choose longer-term work or a focused intensive for deeper or faster change. My role is never to give advice or fix you—it’s to help you understand yourself and your relationship so clearly that new, healthier patterns naturally emerge. The result is usually the same: fewer struggles, greater closeness, more honest communication, and a sex life that feels good instead of dutiful or anxious. Therapy with me is a place where you can feel both fully supported and safely stretched toward the intimacy you deserve.

Dr. Anna Smith Practice Description
My name is Dr. Anna Smith (she/her), and I’m a Licensed Psychologist and AASECT Certified Sex Therapist. For more than ten years I have worked exclusively with individuals and couples in their most vulnerable and intimate moments—helping them move from disconnection, conflict, or sexual dissatisfaction toward relationships that feel secure, alive, and genuinely satisfying. My practice is fully online and nationwide, which means geography never has to stand in the way of specialized care. Through PsyPact I’m able to serve clients in more than 40 states from the comfort and privacy of their own homes. I work with people who are thoughtful and self-aware yet feel stuck—whether that shows up as circular arguments, emotional distance that’s turned into “roommate mode,” mismatched desire, sexual anxiety, shame, past trauma, or simply the quiet ache of wanting more closeness than you currently have. I offer individual therapy, couples therapy, sex therapy (for individuals or couples), and customized intensives. Every service is grounded in the belief that real change happens when we slow down, get curious about the patterns that keep us stuck, and create new ways of relating—emotionally and sexually. My style is warm, collaborative, and direct. I will never pathologize your desires or identities, and I welcome and affirm all genders, orientations, relationship structures, and expressions of sexuality (including kink, poly, and non-traditional paths). Whether you come alone to understand your own patterns and desires or together to rebuild trust and intimacy, my goal is the same: to help you feel lighter, more connected, and more at home in your relationships after our very first session. You don’t have to have it all figured out before you reach out. You just have to be ready for things to feel better.
