Hello, I’m Ben. I believe counselling works best when you feel genuinely heard, accepted and able to be yourself.
I offer an approachable, supportive relationship in which we can explore whatever is happening in your life without judgement or pressure. You may be struggling with anxiety, depression, grief, relationships, neurodivergence or changes that have left you feeling overwhelmed or disconnected. You do not need to arrive with everything clearly understood or know exactly what you want to say.
My approach is integrative, drawing particularly on person-centred and psychodynamic therapy. This allows us to consider both what you are experiencing now and the earlier relationships or patterns that may continue to affect you.
I have particular knowledge and experience of ADHD and neurodiversity, but I work with each person as an individual rather than reducing anyone to a diagnosis or label. Together, we can develop a greater understanding of your experiences and what you may need moving forward.

I offer counselling for adults aged 18 and over in central Cheltenham, through walk-and-talk sessions in Pittville Park, and online across the UK.
People come to counselling for many different reasons. You may be experiencing anxiety, depression, grief, relationship difficulties, low self-esteem or a period of significant change. Perhaps you feel stuck, overwhelmed or disconnected from yourself. You may be trying to understand repeating patterns in your life, or simply have a sense that something does not feel right. You do not need to arrive with a clear explanation or a particular goal—we can begin with whatever feels most important to you.
My approach is integrative, drawing particularly on person-centred and psychodynamic therapy. Person-centred therapy places your individual experience and needs at the heart of our work. Psychodynamic thinking can help us consider how earlier experiences, relationships and patterns may continue to influence the present. I bring these approaches together flexibly, rather than expecting everyone to work in the same way.
I aim to offer a safe, supportive and non-judgemental relationship in which you can speak openly and be yourself. We can take time to understand what you are experiencing, explore feelings that may be difficult to express elsewhere, and consider what you might need moving forward.
I also have particular knowledge and experience of ADHD and neurodiversity. This may be helpful if you are diagnosed, awaiting assessment, questioning whether you may be neurodivergent, or exploring how neurodivergence affects your relationships and sense of self. However, I work with each person as an individual and will not reduce your experience to a diagnosis or label.
Sessions cost £60. I am sometimes able to offer a reduced fee to people experiencing financial difficulty, depending on availability, and I offer a reduced rate to Level 4 counselling students.
If you are wondering whether counselling with me might feel right, you are welcome to get in touch.
