Making a change isn't always as straightforward as knowing what you need to do. Sometimes we feel stuck, conflicted, or caught between the life we're living and the one we'd like to have. My approach to therapy is grounded in curiosity, honesty, and collaboration. I aim to create a space where you can speak openly without fear of judgment, better understand patterns that may be holding you back, and find practical ways to move forward. Therapy is an opportunity to take an honest look at where you are, what matters to you, and what you would like to be different.

Treatment Approach
- Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT) Helps people accept difficult thoughts and feelings instead of fighting them, while committing to actions that reflect their values. It blends mindfulness with practical behavior strategies.
- Biopsychosocial Therapy Takes into account biological, psychological, and social factors in understanding mental health. It looks at the whole person, not just symptoms.
- Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) One of the most widely used approaches, CBT helps people identify unhelpful thoughts and replace them with healthier patterns. It is effective for anxiety, depression, and many other concerns.
- Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) Combines CBT with mindfulness to help regulate emotions, tolerate stress, and build stronger relationships. Originally designed for borderline personality disorder, it’s now used more broadly.
- Existential / Humanistic Therapy Encourages people to explore meaning, freedom, and authenticity in their lives. It focuses on personal growth and living in alignment with one’s values.
- Gottman Method Couples Therapy Based on decades of research, this method gives couples tools to improve communication, manage conflict, and strengthen intimacy.
- Motivational Interviewing (MI) A collaborative, client-centered approach that strengthens motivation for change. It is especially effective for addictions and health behaviors.
- Narrative Therapy Encourages people to view problems as separate from themselves and reframe their life story. It helps build resilience and self-identity.
- Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT) Helps clients challenge and replace irrational beliefs. It is an action-oriented approach for lasting change.
Approach Description: My approach to therapy is collaborative, practical, and grounded in the belief that meaningful change begins with understanding ourselves more clearly. I aim to create an environment where clients feel comfortable speaking openly, including about subjects that may be difficult, uncomfortable, or accompanied by shame.
I draw primarily on Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and Existential, and Narrative Therapy. These approaches offer different ways of understanding the relationship between our thoughts, emotions, behaviours, and experiences.
In our work together, we might explore patterns that keep you feeling stuck, examine how you respond to difficult thoughts and emotions, identify personal values, or develop practical strategies for responding differently. I am particularly interested in helping clients navigate ambivalence around change, build greater psychological flexibility, and take steps toward a life that feels more consistent with what matters to them.
I don't believe therapy needs to be overly complicated or follow a rigid formula. I value honest conversation, curiosity, and adapting the work to the person sitting across from me. I aim to help clients develop a deeper understanding of themselves while building the skills and confidence to make changes that last.

About My Practice
I work with adults and older adolescents navigating challenges that can affect their well-being, relationships, and sense of direction. These challenges can develop gradually or emerge during periods of significant change. My goal is to help clients better understand what they are experiencing, recognize patterns that may no longer be serving them, and find ways to move forward.
My areas of focus include addiction and recovery, anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, life transitions, and out-of-control sexual behaviour. I have a particular interest in working with people who feel conflicted about change, are struggling with behaviours they find difficult to control, or are trying to understand the gap between their intentions and their actions.
Experience and Perspective
Before entering the counselling profession, I spent more than 10 years supporting people affected by addiction and recovery within the 12-step community. I am also a Certified SMART Recovery facilitator. These experiences, together with my clinical training and lived experience, have shaped my understanding of the complexity of behaviour change and the importance of approaching people with respect rather than judgment.
I hold a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology and am a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario. I practise under clinical supervision.
Getting Started
I offer virtual psychotherapy to adults and older adolescents across Ontario, as well as in-person appointments in downtown Toronto. I offer a free 20-minute phone consultation, providing an opportunity to discuss what brings you to therapy, ask questions, and consider whether working together might be a good fit.
