Treatment Approach
- Behavioral Therapy Uses learning techniques like reinforcement and practice to change unwanted behaviors. It is often applied to phobias, anxiety, and habits.
- Biopsychosocial Therapy Takes into account biological, psychological, and social factors in understanding mental health. It looks at the whole person, not just symptoms.
- Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) One of the most widely used approaches, CBT helps people identify unhelpful thoughts and replace them with healthier patterns. It is effective for anxiety, depression, and many other concerns.
- Existential / Humanistic Therapy Encourages people to explore meaning, freedom, and authenticity in their lives. It focuses on personal growth and living in alignment with one’s values.
- Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) A structured therapy that uses guided eye movements to help process traumatic memories. It is widely recognized for treating PTSD and trauma-related conditions.
- Family Systems Therapy Looks at problems within the context of the family as a whole. It aims to improve communication and balance in family relationships.
- Integrative Therapy Combines techniques from multiple approaches into a customized plan. It adapts to each client’s unique situation and needs.
- Motivational Interviewing (MI) A collaborative, client-centered approach that strengthens motivation for change. It is especially effective for addictions and health behaviors.
- Narrative Therapy Encourages people to view problems as separate from themselves and reframe their life story. It helps build resilience and self-identity.
- Person-Centered Therapy (Rogerian) Emphasizes empathy, unconditional positive regard, and authenticity. It provides a safe space for self-discovery and growth.
- Psychodynamic Therapy Explores unconscious thoughts and patterns that influence current behavior. It builds insight into how the past impacts the present.
- Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) Focuses on solutions and future goals rather than past problems. It is practical, short-term, and goal-driven.
- Somatic Therapy Helps clients notice how emotions are stored in the body. It uses breath, movement, and awareness for healing trauma and stress.
Approach Description: Our approach is integrative, which simply means we don't apply the same method to every person who comes to us. We start from a biopsychosocial view, looking at the whole picture: your physical health, your thoughts and emotions, and the relationships and circumstances around you.
For many clients, the work is practical. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy helps you recognize the thought patterns behind anxiety, depression, or stress and build concrete skills to shift them, while Behavioral Therapy focuses on the habits, routines, and avoidance that keep a problem in place, changing them step by step. When your goals are specific and time is limited, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy keeps the work concentrated on what's already working and what a realistic next step looks like. And when you feel torn about making a change, Motivational Interviewing helps you work through that uncertainty and find your own reasons to move forward.
Other work is more exploratory. Psychodynamic Therapy looks at how earlier experiences and relationships still shape how you feel and act today. Existential and Humanistic approaches make room for the larger questions about meaning, purpose, and the person you want to be. Narrative Therapy examines the story you've come to tell about yourself and opens up room to tell it differently. Throughout, our work stays person-centered: you set the direction, and we listen without judgment rather than impose an agenda.
For clients carrying trauma, we offer EMDR, a well-researched therapy that helps the brain reprocess painful memories so they lose their hold on the present — often without needing to talk through every detail of what happened. Somatic Therapy complements this by attending to how stress and trauma live in the body, not only the mind. And because struggles rarely belong to one person alone, Family Systems Therapy addresses the relationship patterns you're part of.
Whatever combination fits, the goal is the same: we meet you where you are and work at your pace.
