People come to us because they're navigating difficulties with life changes, depression, anxiety—any of a million ways that distress manifests itself in our lives. Our specialty is seeing you for the unique person that you are, and meeting you where you are in your struggle. We work with our clients to help discover what issues are causing difficulty or suffering and then to identify the strengths that people have inside of them to help address those challenges.
I see my work as walking a path with you. It’s not my job to tell you which path to take or point you to a different path. My job is to walk alongside of you and point out some of the things you're not noticing. I accompany you down your path instead of telling you where to go.
It's really common for people to think nobody sees them—nobody gets them—and that's my work. To set a safe place for you to be fully you, and to have somebody who sees you. Sees your doubts, your fears, all the things that you feel are flaws, and accepts you for all of that. I truly believe that at our core we're all trying to grow toward our truest self, and my job isn't to tell you what that true self is. It's really to just provide you a space to grow into that, and get out of your way, and support you and help you do it.

Treatment Approach
- Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) One of the most widely used approaches, CBT helps people identify unhelpful thoughts and replace them with healthier patterns. It is effective for anxiety, depression, and many other concerns.
- Eclectic Therapy Draws from different therapeutic methods based on what fits each client best. It is flexible and personalized rather than following one single model.
- Existential / Humanistic Therapy Encourages people to explore meaning, freedom, and authenticity in their lives. It focuses on personal growth and living in alignment with one’s values.
- Integrative Therapy Combines techniques from multiple approaches into a customized plan. It adapts to each client’s unique situation and needs.
- Interpersonal Therapy (IPT) A short-term approach focused on improving relationships and social support. It is often used for depression and grief.
- Person-Centered Therapy (Rogerian) Emphasizes empathy, unconditional positive regard, and authenticity. It provides a safe space for self-discovery and growth.
- Psychodynamic Therapy Explores unconscious thoughts and patterns that influence current behavior. It builds insight into how the past impacts the present.
- Psychoeducational Therapy Provides education and coping tools about mental health conditions. It empowers clients with knowledge and practical skills.
Approach Description: Our therapy style is integrative, rooted in Carl Rogers’ person-centered approach, and also draws on many years of psychodynamic psychotherapy experience. When we work together, we’ll create a customized treatment plan based on your unique needs. We are trained in evidence-based methods like Interpersonal Therapy (IPT), Solutions-Focused Therapy, CBT, and ACT, and we approach substance use issues from a harm-reduction perspective while also embracing clients who prefer to pursue abstinence. We also weave in mindfulness, narrative, feminist, and interpersonal techniques as needed.

We help identify the source of your distress, discomfort, or suffering, and then work collaboratively to help you move away from the sources of pain and toward a more congruent, satisfied self. At San Francisco Counseling Collective ("SFCC"), we work with individuals seeking personal insight, relief from anxiety or depression, and a variety of mental health concerns. We also work with couples and other relationships in their many forms.
