You deserve to feel perfectly enough in life, by learning to cope with a difficult childhood, a traumatic experience, or grieving a loved one. With any of these hardships, knowing your own emotions and needs can prove daunting. You might overwork, people-please, self-criticize, or over-caretake. You likely have feelings from the past that are tough to process. Therapy is a wonderful place for support in becoming your whole self with less stress. Please see much more below about working together around Childhood Difficulties & Trauma, Acute Traumas, or Grief & Loss.

Treatment Approach
- Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT) Helps people accept difficult thoughts and feelings instead of fighting them, while committing to actions that reflect their values. It blends mindfulness with practical behavior strategies.
- Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) One of the most widely used approaches, CBT helps people identify unhelpful thoughts and replace them with healthier patterns. It is effective for anxiety, depression, and many other concerns.
- Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT) Builds skills in self-kindness and compassion toward others. It is especially helpful for people who struggle with shame or self-criticism.
- Developmental Therapy Looks at how childhood and developmental experiences affect current challenges. It aims to repair unmet needs and foster healthy growth.
- Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) Focuses on strengthening emotional bonds in couples or families. It helps people identify negative cycles and create more secure connections.
- Existential / Humanistic Therapy Encourages people to explore meaning, freedom, and authenticity in their lives. It focuses on personal growth and living in alignment with one’s values.
- Feminist Therapy Addresses how gender roles, power, and social inequality affect mental health. It empowers clients to challenge limiting beliefs and systems.
- Gestalt Therapy Encourages awareness of thoughts, feelings, and actions in the present moment. It helps people integrate different parts of themselves for wholeness.
- Integrative Therapy Combines techniques from multiple approaches into a customized plan. It adapts to each client’s unique situation and needs.
- Internal Family Systems (IFS) Helps clients heal by working with different ‘parts’ of themselves, like inner critics or wounded children. It fosters harmony within the self.
- Interpersonal Therapy (IPT) A short-term approach focused on improving relationships and social support. It is often used for depression and grief.
- Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) Combines mindfulness practices with CBT to prevent depression relapse. It helps people notice thoughts without judgment and respond more calmly.
- Multicultural Therapy Acknowledges the role of culture, race, and identity in mental health. It values diversity and adapts treatment to each person’s background.
- Person-Centered Therapy (Rogerian) Emphasizes empathy, unconditional positive regard, and authenticity. It provides a safe space for self-discovery and growth.
- Psychodynamic Therapy Explores unconscious thoughts and patterns that influence current behavior. It builds insight into how the past impacts the present.
- Somatic Therapy Helps clients notice how emotions are stored in the body. It uses breath, movement, and awareness for healing trauma and stress.
Approach Description: As a therapist for over 15 years, it is my privilege to be alongside you as you deepen your inherent wisdom in counseling to glean relief from past hurts and gain more assuredness. My approach tailors to what you need and prefer -- I offer a mix of emotional & logical, creative & connective. My clients say I am collaborative and warm.
Along with talk therapy, I specialize in Somatic Experiencing for trauma that gently helps heal stuck trauma responses in the nervous system. This approach is wonderfully useful with the whole spectrum from stress and anxiety to trauma.

*CHILDHOOD/DEVELOPMENTAL TRAUMA: Adult clients find my practice often seeking to understand how the difficulties growing up impact them now. You might have experienced: an unsupportive parent, a criticizing family member, an enmeshed parent, emotional neglect or abuse, physical or sexual abuse, or a parent/family member with a mental health condition (i.e., a personality disorder, Bipolar Disorder, Alcoholism, etc). Healing these wounds can empower you into a more confident, assured adult who can set boundaries with your parents, use your voice, and be successful in your own relationships.
*ACUTE OR CHRONIC TRAUMA: I work with survivors of various traumas, including: sexual assault or abuse, medical trauma, car accident, birthing a child trauma, physical abuse from childhood, and many more. With both talk therapy and a wonderfully effective and gentle approach called Somatic Experiencing, we'll safely work with survival energy stuck in the nervous system that causes reminders of the events. Healing from trauma is possible, and I am here for each step along the way.
*GRIEF & LOSS: The death of a loved one can be sudden, or a long experience anticipating an illness. It is an honor for me to sit with those whose loved one has died or is in the process of dying. I work alongside clients with: a recent death, a sudden death, anticipating a death from terminal illness or dementia, caretaking a dying loved one, navigating Hospice, and more. Much of grief work is allowing your emotions to release, while also learning new ways of connection, ritual, and remembering. In therapy you will learn your unique journey of surviving grief, and you'll have me alongside.
