Abigail (Abi) Zarate Ramsay (She/Her)

Pre-Licensed Professional, Marriage and Family Therapist Trainee, Professional Clinical Counselor Trainee
 therapist: Abigail (Abi) Zarate Ramsay,
Online in California (Online Only)
I became a therapist because I believe that healing happens in relationships where we feel truly seen, heard, and honored in our full complexity. As a first generation Filipino American woman, I know what it is like to navigate the tensions between culture, family expectations, and your own emerging sense of self. I am particularly drawn to working with people who carry a lot quietly: caregivers, chronic illness warriors, neurodivergent folks, and those living with the impact of generational and systemic trauma. I see therapy as a place where you can set down some of that weight, even briefly, and explore who you are beyond survival mode. My approach is person-centered, which means I center your voice, your pace, and your values, and I bring in tools and frameworks that support your goals rather than asking you to fit into a rigid model. My hope is that therapy with me feels like a steady, grounded relationship where you can be honest about the hardest parts, celebrate the small shifts, and practice new ways of relating to yourself and others. I feel honored every time someone allows me into their story, and I hold that trust with great care.

Therapy Sessions Abigail (Abi) Zarate Ramsay Practice Description
In my practice, I offer person-centered, trauma informed, and culturally affirming therapy for individuals, couples, and families. Many of the people I work with are navigating life transitions, anxiety, depression, chronic health issues, generational trauma, and the barriers often faced by neurodivergent people and people with disabilities. Together, we look not only at your symptoms, but also at the stories, relationships, and systems that have shaped your experience. As a first generation Filipino American woman, I understand how culture, migration, and family expectations can influence identity and emotional well being. I strive to create a space where people of all genders and backgrounds feel genuinely seen, respected, and understood. My work is grounded in systems thinking and narrative therapy, and I integrate holistic and somatic practices to support mind–body awareness and emotional regulation. In session, we may explore your past and present experiences, notice patterns in relationships, and build concrete coping tools to help you move through stress and uncertainty. I see you as the expert on your own life, and I adapt my approach to your needs, preferences, and pacing. The intention of my practice is to offer a warm, grounded, and restorative space where you can rest, reflect, and grow, whether you are dealing with day-to-day stress, long-term health conditions, or deep family and cultural wounds. If you are curious about whether my practice is the right fit, I welcome you to reach out. We can talk briefly about what you are looking for and decide together how I might support you.
