Chuck Chapman

Counselor/Therapist, LPC
 therapist: Chuck Chapman,
Oregon (Online Only)
From the outside, it may look like you have your life together—career, relationships, responsibilities—but inside it can feel like something is missing. You may feel disconnected from your partner, unsure of your purpose, or just tired of carrying everything alone. Many men come to me feeling like they have to choose between being strong and being emotionally present. They’ve spent years keeping the peace, pushing through discomfort, and avoiding conflict, hoping that effort alone would be enough. Yet despite doing everything “right,” they feel lonely, resentful, unseen, or misunderstood in the relationships that matter most. My work is about helping you step back into your life with presence, clarity, and confidence. I help men understand their emotional patterns, communicate from strength instead of defensiveness, and build connection without losing themselves. We will slow down the places where you feel stuck, uncover what you truly need, and develop the inner steadiness to lead yourself and your relationships well. I’m not here to fix you—you’re not broken. I’m here to walk with you as you learn how to show up with more courage, more honesty, and more connection. This is the work of becoming the man you were meant to be.

Treatment Approach

  • Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT) Helps people accept difficult thoughts and feelings instead of fighting them, while committing to actions that reflect their values. It blends mindfulness with practical behavior strategies.
  • Christian Counseling Blends psychological practices with Christian values and scripture. It provides faith-based support for life challenges and spiritual growth.
  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) One of the most widely used approaches, CBT helps people identify unhelpful thoughts and replace them with healthier patterns. It is effective for anxiety, depression, and many other concerns.
  • Contemplative Psychotherapy Combines mindfulness and meditation practices with modern psychology. It encourages awareness and compassion as part of the healing process.
  • Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) Combines mindfulness practices with CBT to prevent depression relapse. It helps people notice thoughts without judgment and respond more calmly.
Approach Description: My approach is collaborative, practical, and rooted in the belief that change happens through relationship. I don’t sit back and simply nod. I engage with you. I ask questions. I help you slow down what’s happening internally so you can understand your thoughts, emotions, and patterns with clarity. From there, we work together to build emotional strength, communication skills, boundaries, and self-leadership. The goal is not just insight—it’s transformation that shows up in your everyday life. I draw from counseling psychology, attachment theory, nervous system regulation, and relational leadership work. But more than any one model, I rely on presence. The pace is steady. We move slowly enough to notice the parts of you that have been ignored or pushed aside. You will learn to recognize what you’re feeling, name your needs, and lead yourself with confidence rather than reacting out of fear or habit. This is not about performance or trying to be a “better man.” It’s about returning to your true self and living from a grounded, centered place. Our work is a partnership. You are not a project to be fixed. You are a person to be met—with respect, honesty, and care. My role is to help you stay with yourself when things get uncomfortable, so you can grow into the man you are becoming—with clarity, courage, and presence.

Chuck Chapman Practice Description
I work with men one-on-one through online therapy sessions, which offer structure, accountability, and a private place to be honest. My approach integrates counseling psychology, emotional regulation, nervous system grounding, and relational leadership practices. I’ve spent over two decades working closely with men, helping them reshape their relationships, restore intimacy, and step back into their lives with courage and purpose. If you are ready to stop avoiding, stop appeasing, and stop going numb just to get through the day, this work can help you come back to yourself. You don’t need to do this alone. We walk this path together. The work we do together is both practical and deeply personal. We start with building emotional clarity—learning to recognize what you’re feeling beneath the surface and why it matters. From there, we build skills for communication, boundaries, connection, and self-leadership. This isn’t about becoming someone different or performing a version of masculinity to make other people happy. It’s about remembering who you are, standing in your truth, and showing up with steadiness and integrity. You will learn how to navigate conflict without shutting down, lead without controlling, and love without losing yourself.
