I believe that healing begins in a safe, supportive, and collaborative relationship. Working with teens, adults, and older adults, I take a client-centred approach, drawing on CBT, DBT skills, attachment-based and trauma-informed methods to help clients move through anxiety, depression, grief, relationship struggles, and the hard transitions that leave people feeling overwhelmed or unmoored. With over a decade in the helping professions, I bring both clinical skill and genuine care to every session — and for clients who want it, faith has a place in the work too. I see clients at GreenValley Counselling's Kitchener, Brantford, and Cambridge offices.

Treatment Approach
- Christian Counseling Blends psychological practices with Christian values and scripture. It provides faith-based support for life challenges and spiritual growth.
- Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) One of the most widely used approaches, CBT helps people identify unhelpful thoughts and replace them with healthier patterns. It is effective for anxiety, depression, and many other concerns.
- Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) Combines CBT with mindfulness to help regulate emotions, tolerate stress, and build stronger relationships. Originally designed for borderline personality disorder, it’s now used more broadly.
Approach Description: My approach is collaborative and tailored rather than one-size-fits-all. I draw primarily from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) to help clients notice and shift unhelpful patterns of thinking, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) skills to build tools for managing intense emotion and improving relationships, and attachment-based, trauma-informed, and grief-informed approaches to help clients work through relational wounds, difficult experiences, and loss. Above all, I believe that real change happens inside a relationship where a client feels genuinely safe.

GreenValley Counselling Services is a warm, multi-location practice serving clients across southern Ontario — with offices in Burlington, Kitchener, Cambridge, and Brantford, plus virtual sessions province-wide. Founded by Heidi Neu, RP, GreenValley brings together a team of therapists dedicated to meeting clients with genuine care and skilled support.
I work with teens, adults, and older adults navigating relationship challenges, anxiety, depression, life transitions, grief, family conflict, and the lasting impact of trauma or difficult life experiences. I see clients at our Kitchener, Brantford, and Cambridge offices, and I have a particular interest in supporting individuals and families through change — the kind that can leave people feeling disconnected, overwhelmed, or unsure of their footing.
I tailor each session to the person in front of me, drawing from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) skills, attachment-based, trauma-informed, and grief-informed approaches. For clients who wish, faith and spirituality can also be woven into the therapeutic process. With more than ten years of experience in the helping professions, I understand life's harder passages not just in theory, but from having lived through my own.
I take in complex situations without judgement, meet people exactly where they are, and bring a depth of care to every session.
If you're looking for a therapist in the Kitchener, Brantford, or Cambridge area who will meet you with warmth, honesty, and acceptance, I'd be glad to hear from you.
