Denver, Colorado therapist: Andrew Goldin, licensed clinical social worker
Men's Issues

Andrew Goldin

Licensed Clinical Social Worker, LCSW, LAC
Data indicates that men are less likely to seek therapy to address areas they want to change. I only work with men so I prioritize creating an environment and approach that works for them. My approach is action-oriented and direct so that men can monitor changes, share feedback, and see growth. As a former business leader, educator, athletic coach, and family therapist, I incorporate best practices from these fields to support client goals.

Denver, Colorado therapist: Denver Wellness Counseling, licensed professional counselor
Men's Issues

Denver Wellness Counseling

Licensed Professional Counselor, MA, LPC
Cultural and familial messages often leave men with strict rules for the role they need to play in business, relationship, love, and life. Examples of this include caretaker, the man of the house, dominant, "strong", no emotion, breadwinner, protector - the list goes on and on. Combined with these roles is an early learning process where they learn how to squash or bottle their emotional experiences, leaving them with less self-connection and lack of tools to initiate closeness (vulnerability and intimacy). Here, at Denver Wellness Counseling we address a variety of men's issues, including: difficulty recognizing and responding to emotions; sexual fears or problems, overwhelm with responsibilities, shame about not meeting responsibilities or underperforming, anger and irritability, and deprograming themes of toxic masculinity. In our practice, over the last 10 years, we have seen a shift where more and more men are prioritizing their wellness, reducing the stigma of counseling, and now make up approximately 50% of our practice.

Lakewood, Colorado therapist: Melissa Clark with Fire and Reins, licensed clinical social worker
Men's Issues

Melissa Clark with Fire and Reins

Licensed Clinical Social Worker, LCSW
I support men who are navigating challenges related to identity, relationships, emotional expression, anger, anxiety, and major life transitions. Many men I work with are seeking a space where they can step out of pressure, isolation, or old conditioning around how they “should” show up, and instead explore what it means to be more grounded, connected, and authentic. In our work, we focus on increasing emotional awareness, understanding relational patterns, and building the capacity to stay present with difficult internal experiences without shutting down or reacting impulsively. This often includes working with anger, stress, or disconnection in a way that leads to more clarity and intentionality rather than avoidance or overwhelm. This is a supportive but direct process aimed at helping you build a more integrated sense of self—one that can hold both strength and emotional depth in your relationships and your life.

therapist: Julie Cochrane - Rapid Transformational Therapy (RTT) Therapist, hypnotherapist
Men's Issues

Julie Cochrane - Rapid Transformational Therapy (RTT) Therapist

Hypnotherapist, Clinical Hypnotherapist, RTT-T, Rewind Therapy Practitioner, Integration Coaching
Many of the men I work with are competent and successful on the outside while carrying something heavier on the inside. Imposter syndrome that no amount of achievement quiets. Anger that surfaces in the wrong places. Pressure to provide that has become a quiet weight. Patterns around emotion that were learned in boyhood and never updated. RTT works directly with the subconscious beliefs that drive these patterns, often laid down decades earlier and still running in the background. The work is practical and direct. You do not need to perform vulnerability or talk for hours. You need to find what is actually running underneath, see it clearly and update it.

Longmont, Colorado therapist: Lance Kair, registered psychotherapist
Men's Issues

Lance Kair

Registered Psychotherapist, MA, LPC
Many men reach out for therapy when they recognize that, despite meeting their responsibilities and appearing successful on the outside, they feel disconnected, overwhelmed, stuck, or uncertain about what comes next. They may be struggling with stress, anxiety, burnout, relationship challenges, loneliness, or a loss of purpose and direction. Lance provides a supportive, nonjudgmental space where clients can step away from the pressure to always have it together and explore what is happening beneath the surface. His approach helps men better understand the emotional, relational, and physical experiences that may be contributing to their current challenges. Drawing from somatic therapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Lance works with the whole person, not just symptoms. He helps clients develop awareness of patterns that may be keeping them stuck, understand how stress and past experiences are affecting their lives, and build a stronger connection to themselves, their values, and the people who matter most. Therapy with Lance is a collaborative process that balances support with practical guidance. His goal is to help men develop greater clarity, emotional resilience, and confidence so they can navigate life's challenges with intention and create a life that feels more meaningful, connected, and authentic.

Boulder, Colorado therapist: David Redbord, registered psychotherapist
Men's Issues

David Redbord

Registered Psychotherapist, MA, MPH, LPCC
As men, our culture tells us: Push your emotions down. Don’t show anything that might indicate you’re not 100% straight. Be the breadwinner. Go out and earn money. Your partner will raise your kids while you work. Repeat the cycle the next day… Next week… Next year… As a result, many men end up: Living in your head instead of in your body. In a job you don’t like, even if you’re making money. Feel disconnected from your partner and disconnected from your kids. You’ll have checked the boxes but you won’t feel fulfilled. You might even feel aimless and purposeless. You’ll feel disconnected from yourself. But there’s a part of you that knows there’s more. So How Can You Feel Fulfilled? The key is to reconnect to yourself. Your body. Your emotions. Your intuition. When you can draw on your body, emotions, and intuition as well as you’re mind… You’ll make richer, healthier, more fulfilling decisions… Because they’re more informed decisions. Rather than living up in your head you become a more whole version of yourself. You’ll be able to show up more fully for yourself. Show up more fully for your partner and your kids. And engage with life from a place of raw vitality, excitement, curiosity, and playfulness. You’ll be able to tap into your unique gifts and offer those to others. You’ll know your strengths and act from there. You’ll find your center, your ground and sit in that stability. Your partner will feel more connected with you. You’ll be able to see, hear and understand your partner more fully because you’re more connected to yourself. You’ll be able to tap into masculine archetypes to draw on examples of healthy masculinity and embody those in your own life so can come from an aligned place of healthy power and well-being.

Philadelphia, Pennsylvania therapist: Philadelphia Couples Therapy, psychologist
Men's Issues

Philadelphia Couples Therapy

Psychologist, PsyD
In many societies and cultures, men have been conditioned to believe that voicing or showing their emotions equates to a lack of control or power. In other words, men have come to expect that when they authentically display their emotions, they must be weak or something must be “wrong.” Largely, this is due to very real social pressures and repercussions where boys, teens, and adult men are shamed by being bullied, targeted, or physically hurt. As such, these instances can lead to some men feeling as though they are less masculline or are not fulfilling their expected gender role. Therefore, it is crucial to understand that the way men operate is inherently different from women, not because of their gender, but because their behaviors are a byproduct of a system that has reinforced oftentimes ineffective and/or damaging strategies of emotional display to combat real or imagined shame (i.e., physical violence, aggression, name-calling, shutting down, etc.). Instead, what we hope to provide at PCT is a new space in which men are able to safely explore themselves without fear of judgment. Thus, leading to the understanding that a man’s emotional responses to internal and external experiences are a human process, not one that is solely based on gender or gender role expectations. More often than not, when men enter therapy, much of the work centers around learning how and why they learned to cope with difficult thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. Most importantly, though, men are given a space to authentically “be” in a way that society does not always permit. They are able to speak without fear of judgment and think with a renowned sense of emotional awareness. It is this process that ultimately brings men the most fulfillment in their relationships. When we teach men that they are allowed to feel and communicate the emotions that are inherent to every human being, we give them the tools to see a world that they did not previously have access to. In other words, therapy gives men the permission to be the fullest version of themselves for themselves and for those around them.
