Because poor self esteem is often a lifelong problem, it can be very hard to resolve on your own. It is often related to trauma in childhood. When I work with clients who struggle with low self esteem, I want to understand how they came to the belief that they are generally not good enough. We also will look at how habits of thought, feeling, behavior, and self care may be reinforcing a negative self image, and work on making changes so a positive self image can be reinforced instead.
