Hi there, my name is Rebecca Ray. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Alabama. My approach to therapy is an eclectic approach including Client Centered Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Committee Therapy, and Emotional Interviewing. I enjoy working with teens, young adults, couples, older adults, and families.

I provide therapy for individuals and couples in midlife or retirement—helping you move through life’s changes with clarity, purpose, and hope. You’ve worked hard and cared for others, yet lately something feels off. Whether you’re feeling burned out, overwhelmed by life’s demands, or unsure about what comes next, therapy offers a space to slow down, heal, grow, and begin creating a life that feels more grounded, fulfilling, and enjoyable again.

I believe therapy can help us overcome the obstacles that keep us stuck in the past and unable to embrace a life worth living. At times we all feel lost or overwhelmed by changes in our lives. Life was not delivered with a book of instructions, and it can be challenging, disappointing, stressful, and even lonely at times. Each of us must make sense of our world. When things don't make sense we experience anxiety, depression, anger, confusion, stress, or other difficulties. My goal is to help each individual or couple become more effective at dealing with and developing coping skills so they can better manage their own unique life situation. Each person is unique; therefore, we will work together to craft a specific plan designed for your needs.

I offer Christian Counseling to those who desire to include faith into their therapy. I speak the language of people who consider their faith to be an important part of their identity. I also have a heart to help people who are hurting, in need of transformation, and healing. It is rewarding to help people become the best version of themselves.

Montgomery is Alabama's state capital and a city with profound civil rights significance — the birthplace of the bus boycott, home to the Dexter Avenue King Memorial Baptist Church, and site of the National Memorial for Peace and Justice — and this history creates a distinctive clinical context in which racial identity, community trauma, and intergenerational resilience are active themes. The city has a majority Black population and a state government workforce, generating therapy demand that spans from the particular stresses of public service careers to the cultural and emotional dimensions of living in a place where the history of racism is physically present.
