My practice is based on the idea of Kintsukuroi. This is the Japanese art of pottery repair, in which broken pieces of pottery are mended using precious metals. The resulting piece is often more beautiful than it was before it was broken. Its cracks make it unique, and the shining way it has been mended now becomes a valuable feature.
I believe that difficult times do not have to break us, but can help us grow , and our cracks can become opportunities to mend ourselves back together in beautiful ways. Our cracks can be reminders that even broken things can still be golden.
