Lasting weight loss involves more than just dieting; it's about addressing the emotional and psychological factors that influence eating habits. Counselling for weight management offers a non-judgmental space to explore your relationship with food, identify triggers for emotional eating, and cultivate mindful eating practices. Therapists help you reframe negative thought patterns and develop healthier coping mechanisms for stress, leading to sustainable and compassionate lifestyle changes. The goal is to build a positive body image and increase your overall well-being, moving beyond a cycle of guilt and restriction toward lasting health.

There are millions of people in the world who dream of losing weight, whether it is 3kg, 25 or more. Excessive weight can have a few different causes. While for some people it is mainly because of their eating habits, type of food products they choose to eat, for others the cause is mainly connected to emotions and feelings.
Some people “hide” themselves or something behind their bigger body. Others feel more important and recognized, noticed when they are bigger. By some theories big tummy in men and women is the “home” of some fears, they need a lot of “room” to live.
Digestive system is one of the first in the body that reacts to various emotional experiences.
Some people are more prone to certain digestive disorders than other people.
Have you met that girl or guy that eats 3 times more than you and even junk food and never gains weight? It is unfair, you’d say, yes I can hear you.
You have a unique body and your regulation system can be unique in some way. However there are some common patterns.
If we talk about eating disorders they can come from childhood, youth or adult years, there are different triggers and often layers and layers to unveil. There are many factors influencing body weight, including your preference in diet and nutrition, water consumption, your daily habits, communication, emotional state, your life style in general, how you satisfy your desires and needs in life and even family patterns.
Lots of food companies add such additives to the food that they make it addictive on a chemical, hormonal, or other levels. It is a field of life science that can surprise us again and again.
Please note, that I do not have education in nutrition even if keep learning about various studies on that subject as well as currently studying medical astrology. I am not a magician and I do not have a magic pill, wand or button which can help you lose weight. I practiced myself a certain diet that allowed me to lose some weight, however it might not work for everyone.
What I believe in is the existence of psychosomatic causes in health and body image issues, in awareness of emotions and feelings, ability to transform them, and in personal compassion and discipline. Often there are also secret gains in something you like or don’t like.
So I can help you with is to look deeper into the psychological and emotional aspect of food related habits and impulsive eating. I love working with metaphorical associative cards (MACards), emotion-image therapy and art therapy, because they allow to tap into the subconscious mind, where majority of the decisions are made. Together we will explore what make you eat one food or another, your daily habits and I will help you to create a strategy for building new habits and finding a healthy way to nourish yourself.
Best is to book a package of 3-5 sessions at minimum together, to schedule sessions once or twice a week.
Sessions are available on the first come first serve basis with a preference to returning clients and have to be booked in advance (pre-paid in advance).
Rates for sessions vary from USD $75 to $125 depending on the package and length of the session.
I offer a sliding scale for the 1st session and when you take a package.
As a special promo, discovery consultation in March 2023 is free of charge, it lasts 20-30 minutes and can be followed up by the 1st consultation on the same day.

Empowering Sustainable Change: A Counselor’s Approach to Weight‑Loss Journeys
Weight loss is far more than a number on a scale—it’s a dynamic interplay of thoughts, emotions, habits, and life circumstances. As a trained counselor, I partner with each client to uncover the personal narrative that shapes their relationship with food, movement, and self‑image.
My process begins with a compassionate, non‑judgmental conversation that honors the client’s unique history and goals. Through motivational interviewing and evidence‑based cognitive‑behavioral techniques, we identify limiting beliefs, trigger patterns, and emotional cues that often drive overeating or inactivity. Together we craft realistic, values‑aligned action plans that blend nutrition fundamentals, enjoyable physical activity, and stress‑management strategies—always calibrated to the client’s lifestyle and preferences.
Progress is measured not only by pounds lost but by increased confidence, improved mood, and the development of resilient coping skills. I provide ongoing support through weekly check‑ins, skill‑building worksheets, and a toolbox of mindfulness practices that help clients stay present and responsive rather than reactive.
My commitment is to guide clients toward lasting transformation, fostering a balanced mindset that sustains health long after the program ends. Success, in this context, is a holistic, empowered way of living—where every small victory builds momentum toward a fuller, healthier life.
