Seattle, Washington therapist: Anna Barrios, licensed clinical social worker
Serving Native American

Anna Barrios

Licensed Clinical Social Worker, LCSW
I live in the beautiful Southwest, and I embrace my Hispanic heritage. My best childhood memories are family road trips between Mexico and the USA. I learned at an early age that diversity was something to cherish, and yet I realized that differences can lead to division. With this in mind, I decided to pursue a degree in social work. I chose to focus on mental health in order to be a catalyst for hope and healing in my community. I have worked with nonprofit organizations, schools, and State agencies delivering best-practice mental health services. Currently, I provide tele-health services in three States. I am a bilingual therapist- Spanish. and I specialize in helping adults process childhood trauma due to family substance use, domestic abuse and neglect. The focus is to treat the anxiety, depression, grief, difficulty with relationships, challenges in parenting, and a host of issues that may result from unresolved pain. I believe that healing is a journey we do not have to travel alone.

New York City, New York therapist: Dr. Stéphanie Gamache, PhD, hypnotherapist
Serving Native American

Dr. Stéphanie Gamache, PhD

Hypnotherapist, PhD
Something in you knows that what you're carrying runs deeper than the presenting problem. Many of the people I work with are thoughtful, capable, and outwardly composed-yet internally they live with anxiety, depression, chronic tension or pain, relentless self-criticism, or a sense that something essential is blocked, muted, or just out of reach. These struggles may surface in mood, in the body, in behavior, or in relationships-including sexuality and intimacy-but they are rarely contained to any one area. They tend to reflect deeper emotional and relational patterns formed early in life, often before language, that continue to shape how a person approaches closeness, vulnerability, agency, pleasure, and self-expression. My work centers on how early experience shapes the capacity for self-regulation, desire, connection, and meaning throughout life-and particularly on how people come to know what they need and want, how they learn to express or inhibit those impulses, and what happens when these capacities become conflicted, constricted, or difficult to sustain. I integrate psychoanalytic hypnotherapy, somatic awareness, and clinical sexology within a reflective, depth-oriented process. Hypnosis functions as a central clinical tool-creating conditions for deeper internal contact with emotional, bodily, and unconscious experience that can be difficult to reach through conversation alone. The aim is not only relief from symptoms, but the development of a more coherent and compassionate relationship with one's inner life: sensations, emotions, impulses, and desires. This work is oriented toward lasting psychological change-and toward greater freedom in how one relates to oneself, one's body, and one's capacity for connection, authenticity, and vitality. It is best suited to those ready to move beyond symptom management toward something more fundamental.

Los Angeles, California therapist: Laura Anderson LPCC, Eff Shame Therapy, licensed professional counselor
Serving Native American

Laura Anderson LPCC, Eff Shame Therapy

Licensed Professional Counselor, LPCC
I started Eff Shame Therapy because I believe shame is at the root of most of what brings people to therapy — and because I think it deserves to be named directly rather than tiptoed around. We are living in a world that generates shame faster than most of us can process it, and many of us are carrying wounds from abuse, trauma, and systemic harm that have never had a real place to land and heal. I work with adults who are ready to stop managing their pain and start actually moving through it. My approach is trauma-informed, shame-free, and genuinely collaborative — I bring some of the most effective healing tools available including EMDR, Flash Technique, and ketamine-assisted EMDR, and I meet you exactly where you are. This work matters to me. Not as a concept but in the room, session by session, with real people who deserve more than survival.
