Susana Levy, Makaua Art Therapy
Art Therapist, LPCC, ATRP
My specialty is supporting people experiencing social isolation through mindfulness-based, person-centered practices that foster connection and belonging. Drawing on rituals and rites of passage, along with my work as a cacao facilitator and yoga teacher, I create warm, grounding spaces where shared humanity, creativity, and expression are welcomed. I value compassionate presence and embodied awareness as ways to gently explore thoughts, emotions, and sensations in the here and now, helping restore a sense of connection to self and others.

David Redbord
Registered Psychotherapist, MA, MPH, LPCC
Social isolation is its own vicious cycle. You’re by yourself so you feel sad and lonely.
You get in the habit of not connecting with others, so then when the opportunity to connect arises, you feel irritable and out of sorts.
Then you judge yourself for not connecting well enough with that other person.
This keeps you isolated.
To deal with social isolation, there are a couple of key approaches:
1. Change your habits. Get out of the rut. Start to identify opportunities to socialize. Take action to follow through on those opportunities.
2. Connect with yourself. Learn additional skills to make connection with others easier. The more willing you are to connect to yourself; to your feelings, needs, wants, etc. the easier it becomes to connect with others.
I’d welcome the opportunity to support you in socializing more, and to create meaningful connections with yourself and others. Please reach out to see how we can work together.

I suffered from social isolation for many years. I also had severe social anxiety. And I had severe chronic blushing. For many years I had very little social life and my career suffered terribly. I truly understand this issue of social isolation from the point of view as person, a client, and as a coach and therapist. Please reach out to me by scheduling a free 30 minute complimentary consultation so we can discuss how I can help you. It won't be as difficult as you imagine. You deserve a full life, and it is totally possible.

Social Isolation is a complete or near complete lack of contact between society. This is caused by an underlying mental health disorder. With my expertise, we can find the underlying issue and use CBT, DBT, ACT, TFCBT, and solution focused therapy as our treatment approach.

Christina Song
Marriage and Family Therapist, LMFT-S
I work with individuals experiencing social isolation from a trauma-informed, strengths-based perspective. Feeling disconnected can arise from life transitions, mental health challenges, systemic barriers, or past relational trauma, and it often affects both emotional and physical well-being. In therapy, we explore the factors contributing to isolation, the impact on your sense of self, and the patterns that may keep you disconnected.
Our work focuses on building meaningful connection, fostering self-compassion, and developing strategies to navigate social environments in ways that feel safe and authentic. Therapy becomes a space to reconnect with yourself and others, strengthen relational skills, and cultivate sustainable ways of belonging that honor your needs, boundaries, and values.

Tara Murphy
Psychologist, Psy.D.
Isolation may feel protective but often deepens loneliness and shame. I use IFS, attachment work, and integrative approaches to help clients explore the parts that fear connection and slowly build safety in relationships. Somatic and mindfulness practices support regulation in social settings. My diagnostic expertise clarifies overlap with depression, trauma, or personality disorders, and I work with prescribers when needed.

Dr. Stacie McPherson
Psychologist, M.A., Psy.D., Licensed Psychologist
Isolation often goes hand-in-hand with other struggles—depression, anxiety, major life changes, or the aftermath of relationships that didn't go well. I help clients untangle what's contributing to their sense of disconnection and take meaningful steps toward building or rebuilding social support. This isn't about forcing yourself to be more extroverted—it's about understanding what connection looks like for you and removing the obstacles that stand in the way.
