Perinatal trauma includes a broad spectrum of events, including miscarriage, infertility, childlessness not by choice, and complications that can happen within the adoption process. Processing of these difficulties includes focusing on the underlying negative belief of self, and identifying if this is a new belief as a result of recent struggles or if this is a core belief that has been part of the system for a long time. We will then focus our attention to reprocessing the first memory related to this negative cognition, the worst memory and then the most recent.
