Julie Jenner
Counsellor/Therapist, BA(Hons), NCS Senior Accredited
Being late diagnosed Autistic meant I had a lifetime of feeling I was different, but not understanding how and why. It has been a real rollercoaster of a ride discovering so many ways that I had adapted myself to suit others, and to start finally dropping the masks. This helps me to be open about what might be difficult for you, and to support you on your journey of discovery and acceptance. Together we will look at your difficulties, issues with relationships, areas where you struggle and the areas where you flourish. Any kind of otherness often come with low self-worth or beliefs, and I will support and encourage you to turn these around.

I’m experienced in working with clients who have autism or Asperger’s syndrome, and can tailor therapy sessions for all mental health problems according to the individual client’s needs. I have also provided counselling and CBT for clients whose children or wider family members have autism, and supported them with the challenges that have arisen in their family. I'm experienced in working with autistic clients who struggle with addictions and problematic use of video games and OW. I also specialise in CBT for ADHD/ ADD. I've been invited to speak on an expert panel on Neurodivergence in the workplace, at a large regional business show.

Therapist, MBACP Prof Dip
I've autism myself and feel that helps us connect over ineffable things that neurotypical therapists may struggle to understand fully. My approach combines warmth and compassion with a more direct and methodical reflection on things we discuss- which seems to work well! Whatever you're struggling with personally, I can help you become more self-accepting and dare to "unmask", view your relationships more positively, and deal with the debilitating anxiety (and often depression) that too frequently come hand in hand with living with an ASD. The mental stress and exhaustion of trying to conform to please others in a world that doesn't seem to get you or accommodate you - is soul-destroying! I'll work with you to help alleviate some of the terrible suffering that can arise and improve the quality of your life and your relationships. Nobody should feel compelled to hide who they are, how they feel, or what they need!

Counsellor/Therapist, BA (hons), Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling
Fortunately today there is much greater understanding about autism, although this may not be your story. If autism is part of who you are and how you think then learning to live with and love that element of yourself is key and I can help with that.

Emma Poxon
Counsellor/Therapist, MA Person-Centred Experiential Counselling
I am a late diagnosed therapist who has an ADHD diagnosis so I know first hand the challenges that self-diagnosed and medically diagnosed neurodivergent people face. I have found that neurodivergent clients naturally gravitate towards me, and now I have my diagnosis it all makes sense! It’s so lovely being able to have that immediate understanding of things that neurotypical people just don’t experience, saving the need to over explain and welcoming in supposed “weirdness”. You are not a problem to be fixed, my aim as your therapist is to try to provide the right conditions to allow you to explore whatever you want to bring to therapy to support your growth. This isn't a therapeutic approach wherein I will set a treatment plan or tell you what to do. We will work together as a partnership rather than me taking away your autonomy. I absolutely love the work I do, it is the biggest privilege being let into people’s personal worlds and seeing the immense growth of my clients. I hope to hear from you soon!
