Trauma and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) can be debilitating conditions that can greatly impact an individual's mental and emotional well-being. Trauma can be caused by a wide range of events such as physical or emotional abuse, accidents, natural disasters, and combat. PTSD is a condition that can develop after a person has been through a traumatic event.
As a therapist, I specialize in helping individuals who have experienced trauma and PTSD. I use evidence-based therapies such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), which have been proven to be effective in treating trauma and PTSD.
CBT is a form of therapy that helps individuals identify and change negative thought patterns and behaviors that contribute to their symptoms. TF-CBT is a specific type of CBT that is designed to help individuals who have experienced traumatic events such as sexual abuse.
In therapy sessions, we will work together to understand the underlying causes of your trauma and PTSD and develop strategies to manage your symptoms. We will also work on building resilience and coping skills to help you navigate through the challenges that you may face.
