I work with many life difficulties. I have never understood how any individual, male or female, can believe that it is acceptable to behave in a physically or emotionally abusive manner towards someone whom they purport to love. The distortion of reality is that abusers often use the term 'love' to justify their abhorrent behaviour. My role as a psychological counsellor is to help anyone in an abusive situation break free from the cycle of abuse and discover a fulfilled future. Such a future may be independence, or it may be in a loving relationship that is truly healthy.

From my earliest years, a deep-seated commitment to justice took root in me, sparked by the passion of a Harvard-educated lawyer portrayed by Barry Newman in the television series Petrocelli. This attorney, forsaking the allure of Wall Street wealth, dedicated himself to serving the voiceless and underserved, often for a symbolic one-dollar fee. This childhood inspiration propelled me to pursue a legal career at the University of Buenos Aires to become a criminal lawyer at the age of 22. Although my professional journey led me through roles as an actor and ordained minister, culminating in my current roles as a psychotherapist and coach, I never strayed from my passion to protect the innocent and champion justice whenever needed. Over the last few decades, I have intentionally immersed myself in the realm of domestic violence and abuse, driven by a conviction that, while understanding the roots of such actions in the trauma and pain of the perpetrators, we must stand firm to halt the cycle of violence and protect the victims. Though navigating this work while victims are still ensnared within the power dynamics of abuse is delicate and perilous, it brings extraordinary fulfillment to assist someone in breaking free. In rare cases, I've had the privilege of aiding abusers in turning their lives around. Given my background as a criminal lawyer, minister, and specialized psychotherapist, it is my profound honour to support those in need, guiding them to break free from the grips of abuse and use their traumatic experiences as a catapult toward a life of fulfillment, freedom, and empowerment. The journey from victimization to liberation is undoubtedly treacherous and delicate, yet it stands as one of the most fulfilling paths one can take when breaking free from any form of abuse or violence. If you're going to focus on what's causing you stress, staying focused on the present is the best way to do it. Based on the latest neuroscience, my approach is usually centred on the high points of an individual's life, and it involves recalling those times when they were at their best. This allows us to recreate the feelings that they experienced. One of the most effective ways to start working is to focus on the positive instead of the negative feelings that you experienced in the past. For instance, ask yourself if you made the best decisions when you were feeling low. Although most people aren't broken, they may be struggling with a mismatch between their expectations and their feelings. This could be because their brain doesn't always align with their emotions. It's also possible that external factors have caused them to feel low. If you're feeling low, it could be because your self-esteem has taken a nose-dive or you're not able to cope with the situation. Our thoughts and emotions often determine our behaviour. It's important to remember that we can only become the best version of ourselves if we can control our emotions and thoughts.
