Annapolis, Maryland therapist: Eric Weinstein, life coach
Women's Issues

Eric Weinstein

Life Coach, Hypnosis and NLP, shamanic healing, Energy Psychology (including "tapping"), Voice Dialogue
It might seem strange for a man to list women’s issues as a specialty, but it was the mistreatment of women in my life that inspired me to research alternatives to mainstream medicine and mental health. I don’t claim to have special insights into women’s issues, but as a member of a “target” group myself (I’m a man of color, and a short one at that.), I relate to some of the societal “isms” that women face. A girlfriend once said “You think more like a woman than any man I’ve known.” I think she was exasperated, but I was complimented. Maybe this is why I attract a higher percentage of female clients (especially female therapists!) than most males in a therapeutic role, and why I’ve long had more female friends than male friends. I’m a reasonably enlightened guy who’s proud to say I’m a feminist (although I also work well and respectfully with women who are politically and religiously traditional and/or conservative). So, if you think it might help to have a male perspective and (depending on your age) some healthy father energy in your life, get in touch.

Being a woman in this day and age can bring so many different layers of challenge and difficulty. In our work together, we can walk through the different issues that you are facing while deepening insight into the strategies you've developed throughout your life to adapt to life's demands. While these strategies were often necessary in the moment, they sometimes just don't work so well for us as time goes on or as the situation changes. Our sessions focus on building insight into your patterns, the messages/beliefs you may hold about yourself and others, and strategies to help you take the steps that are meaningful to you.

Being a woman is extraordinary. It is also, if we are being honest, exhausting in ways that do not always get acknowledged. The pressure to be everything to everyone. The invisible labor that never makes it onto anyone's radar. The way we are socialized to shrink, to apologize, to put ourselves last and call it strength. And layered underneath all of that, the very real and unique experiences that shape us as women, our bodies, our relationships, our roles, our seasons of life, and sometimes our wounds. At CCW International, women are not just a specialty. They are the heart of why this practice exists. Our founder started this practice to serve women navigating some of life's hardest chapters, beginning with women diagnosed with breast cancer who needed more than clinical treatment. They needed someone who understood the full weight of what they were carrying. That commitment to seeing and honoring the whole woman has never wavered. We work with women across every season of life, from young adults finding their footing to seasoned professionals redefining what comes next. We address the issues that are uniquely ours, identity, self-worth, relationships, reproductive health, trauma, caregiving, grief, and the quiet but persistent feeling that you have been taking care of everyone else for so long you have forgotten how to take care of yourself. You have spent enough time being strong for everyone else. This is your space to just be human. We are here for you, all of you.

What does it mean to be a woman? I approach therapy taking into account the unique biological, psychological, and social experiences, including depression, anxiety, trauma, hormonal transitions, caregiving stress, and discrimination that women experience. We look out your experience as a woman through the lens of the various environments you exist in and the ways we have been conditioned to think and feel about women. I am trained in many of the conditions that disproportionately affect women and use approaches designed for life‑stage changes such as pregnancy, postpartum, perimenopause, and menopause.

Women often wear many hats throughout life — daughter, mother, wife, sister, friend, caregiver, career professional, and more. At times, balancing these roles can feel natural and fulfilling, yet at other times it may become overwhelming or emotionally draining. In those moments, a powerful question often rises to the surface: Who am I beyond everything I do for everyone else? While we may clearly understand the roles we fulfill, discovering who we are outside of those roles is a deeper, more personal journey. In my practice, I offer a supportive and nurturing space where women can explore their identities, reflect on their experiences, and reconnect with the parts of themselves that may have been overlooked or set aside. Together, we work to rediscover your unique voice, strengthen your sense of self, and help you move forward with clarity, confidence, and authenticity.

The world has a lot of "rules" for women - how we should act, speak, dress, work, love, and show up in everyday life. And sometimes, we're so steeped in these messages that it becomes hard to even know what we believe anymore. Whether you're feeling unsure about what you're looking for in a relationship, having trouble asserting yourself at work, experiencing challenges related to physical stressors, or dealing with other people in your life who think you 'should' be doing something differently - I can help. Starting therapy can be anxiety-provoking at times, which is why I offer free consultations to all prospective clients. You can book a free 20 minute phone call directly on my website, and I'll reach out to you right away to confirm. We can chat about what you're looking for support with AND make sure everything feels like a good fit before scheduling an intake. I can't wait to connect with you!
