Self esteem, or the lack thereof, evolved from our earliest experiences in life, as we made sense of ourselves in relationship to others. Unfortunately, the most important people in our early lives didn't always know how significant they would be in how they influenced the young developing children around them. Additionally, our own "messages to self" began before we were mentally and emotionally evolved. Fortunately, self esteem is malleable and we do not need to accept what we once believed about our own worth. Undoing this however, often requires a therapist skilled in the art of empowerment. My practice is named EMPOWER because I always seek to elevate your self esteem whether it is the focus of our conversations or not.
