Jenna Sackman - Online/Virtual Therapy
Licensed Mental Health Counselor, LMHC, LPC
I specialize in working with individuals (children, teens and adults) and couples, and I am incredibly passionate about the work I do and the people with whom I have the honor to work. My areas of expertise are anxiety / stress, relationship challenges, conflict resolution, intrusive negative thoughts and patterns, loss/grief and depression.
Most clients and couples choose to work with me because they are looking for nontraditional therapy that provides them with concrete skills to improve their everyday lives and/or address specific concerns. Holistic and integrative in my approach, I believe that there is no "one size fits all" in therapy. Therefore, I uniquely tailor therapy sessions to meet each client's needs and goals. With extensive experience and training in results oriented and solutions focused cognitive therapies, positive psychology, mindfulness, Buddhist Psychology, Gottman Method for Couples, meditation, and yoga, I offer creative approaches that result in meaningful change and growth.
Above all, I am committed to creating therapeutic relationships that are built on trust, respect, transparency, empathy, honesty, and equality, and I always counsel from a nonjudgmental place of understanding and compassion.
I am happy to offer a free 15 minute phone consultation to see how I can best support you! Why wait tomorrow when you can start today? Please reach out to schedule your free consultation on my calendar: https://calendly.com/jenna-sackman/phone-consultation

Jessenia Ramirez oversees Capaz Counseling and is a Latina Licensed Mental Health Counselor specializing in Attachment and Trauma Therapy. She serves all folx residing in New York who seek understanding of how their patterns have been shaped and how there is capacity for growth within those patterns. She welcomes all identities, and specializes in supporting Latinx/e, LGBTQIAGNC, and BIPOC professionals and young adults.
Jessenia has provided therapy to those in hospital, non-profit, and community mental health clinic settings. She’s worked with adults, children, and families throughout the years. Ultimately, her experiences led to her focus on exploring patterns that often appear in anxiety, depression, interpersonal trauma, and identity development all of which informs the relational lens practice that is Capaz Counseling.
Jessenia supports the view that wellness is an act of resistance and uses therapy to affirm, empower, and inform. She centers her work on helping folx understand how their parts of self is shaped by their encounters, and how they can ultimately form a different pattern that supports the resilience that already lies within them.

Dr. Mike Abrams
Psychologist, PhD, MBA, ABPP
I limit my practice to a few clients with whom I can offer meaningful help. I do not think it is ethical for a psychologist to agree to work with someone who has a problem outside of their expertise or someone who has barriers that the psychologist suspects they cannot overcome. When I conclude that I can help someone, I collaborate with them while applying the most appropriate methods for their problems. I choose these methods from among the many I have studied or developed. This is sometimes called a Transdiagnostic Integrative technique. Here, a clinical label or diagnosis is less important than the unique collection of symptoms a person is living with. I also make sure that I come to understand the client's point of view, how their adversities, their personal philosophy, and their level of suffering combine to lead to their anxiety, depressed mood, or even anger. When the client agrees, I prefer to use psychological testing to be sure my assessment of the client's situation is supported by the best available science. When I conduct psychotherapy, I know it can only be effective when I view the client as presenting many intricate problems that must be fully understood, so each client's issues are approached as scientific hypotheses that guide therapy, which guide my specific interventions, but is always open to revision as new life history information or psychological data becomes available.
Since I have trained numerous therapists and continue researching and publishing in the field, my clients are assured they receiving the most effective evidence-based interventions. If you do see me, you can be confident that you will be unconditionally accepted in a safe and comfortable therapeutic relationship with every effort being made to help you.
