As a therapist, my job is to help you find and nurture the seeds of healing that we all carry within us. Sometimes, we are so distressed and anxious that we cannot see it for ourselves and need help to find it. Working together as a team, I can help you be the healthy person you were destined to be.  

You may understand your patterns and still find yourself repeating them. Perhaps anxiety keeps you on edge, you and your partner struggle to feel heard, or addiction is affecting someone you love. I help individuals, couples, and families understand what keeps them stuck and work toward meaningful change. I am Richard Turnham, LPC-S, LADC-S, with 17 years of counseling experience. My approach begins with getting to know you—your experiences, motivations, fears, strengths, and ways of coping. Together, we explore the roots of painful patterns and build practical ways to respond differently. I enjoy working with couples on communication, recurring conflict, trust, and emotional connection. My addiction experience includes helping people in recovery and supporting spouses, parents, and other family members affected by a loved one's substance use. I also work with anxiety, grief, trauma, depression, boundaries, and self-worth. My style is warm, honest, and collaborative. I want you to feel understood and supported while also having room to examine difficult truths and make changes. I am a Christian and welcome people of all faiths and no faith; spiritual perspectives are included according to your preferences.
