Audrey Palmer-Genesis Clinical Services

Registered Psychotherapist, CYW,MTS,RP
I'm a therapist in Toronto and I believe that each individual is the expert in themselves, and as such, they enter into a relationship with the therapist to move forward toward wholeness. I also believe that most of what we experience is temporary as we look at the extent of our lives. I caution individuals not to make permanent decisions based on a temporary situation. Therapy is the process of understanding what has derailed the individual and actively move them back to a place of equilibrium. After 25 years of practice, I bring knowledge, insight and numerous skills to my work with clients. Whether I'm treating trauma, or helping clients apply the insights offered by Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy, or utilizing the concepts of resilience to their experience, I am a fairly creative and utilize the client's creativity to help move them forward. By asking questions, offering perspectives, and suggesting ways to engage in the process beyond the confines of the session itself. My central role is to establish a caring and therapeutic relationship with each and every client. Contact me for a fifteen min. phone session.

Registered Psychotherapist, Registered Gestalt Psychotherapist Somatic Experiencing Practitioner Gottman Trained Couples Therapist
As a gestalt psychotherapist, who pairs gestalt training with somatic experiencing I can help support you in healing from your trauma. No one in the Niagara Region utilizes the combination of these therapies and applies them to working with couples in crisis. Gottman (couples) and Post Induction Therapy training (relational/developmental trauma) I am sorry to say but popular approaches to healing trauma like CBT will provide only temporary relief at best. If you want to get to the root of your trauma and heal somatic experiencing (SE) is what you need and when supported with the power of relational gestalt therapy you will shift your shit! SE focuses on regulating your nervous system. With SE work trauma responses are completed and energy is released back into the system and with this the resolution and disappearance of physical complaints, including headaches, digestive problems, and pain syndromes can be resolved, and emotional regulation can be restored. I will teach you how to work with your stress response - the body's innate alarm system in response to a perceived danger, also called the "Fight or Flight" response. It is highly adaptive to danger and human survival when threats are physical, but less so when threats are psychological, or imaginary, among other somatic and relational skills. I have been trained under Dr Abi Blakeslee part of Dr Peter A Levine's legacy group out of California for Somatic Experiencing and the late great Dr Bud Feder the author of Beyond the Hot Seat was on my dissertation committee overseeing a phenomenological study of the effectiveness of a gestalt therapy group I created to reduce stress in working informal caregivers of the elderly. I named the group process Stressed WOW (We Overloaded with Work). Gestalt therapy is an extremely complex psychotherapy, too complex to describe in this short space. The power of its effectiveness can only be experienced. Most present day therapies have stolen bits and pieces of its praxis. Get the whole again with a holistic, here and now, experiential therapy. I am here for you... I've got your six!

Pickering, Ontario therapist: Sherine Chacko, registered social worker
Serving Native American

Sherine Chacko

Registered Social Worker, MSW,RSW
Hi, I’m Sherine Chacko, a Registered Social Worker with over 16 years of experience supporting individuals, couples, and families through emotional, relational, and life challenges. I often work with clients who look like they are managing on the outside but feel overwhelmed internally. You may be struggling with anxiety, low mood, relationship stress, emotional reactivity, lack of motivation, or a sense of disconnection from yourself. You may be seeking coping strategies, but also wanting to understand yourself more deeply. My goal is to create a safe, respectful, and non-judgmental space where you can speak openly, feel understood, and begin making meaningful changes. I believe therapy works best when it is collaborative. I do not see my role as doing the work for you, but as walking alongside you as you develop insight, confidence, emotional clarity, and practical tools for your life. I also believe that no person exists in isolation. Your relationships, culture, values, faith, family history, and life experiences all matter. In therapy, we will consider the full context of who you are — not just your symptoms.
