"Most anxiety and fears are learned. It is called emotional learning. We learn these things when we are under stress and the memory is encoded in the primitive part of the brain. The goal is to discover when and how this fearful learning happened and then to use evidenced approaches to nullify these emotional learnings. The main approach we use is called Memory Reconsolidation or Coherence Therapy. We use this approach alongside modalities like EMDR, CBT, and Somatic Experiencing. If you want to learn more about this powerful approach please google Coherence Therapy or Memory Reconsolidation.

Anxiety and fears are learned response behaviors, usually stemming from past traumatic experiences. Our subconscious creates warning signals which are directly connected to our limbic system, which is involved in our Fight/Flight mechanism. THere is also evidence that some anxieties run in famillies, creating a predisposition. Those individuals who have experienced a lifetime of anxiety and fears can benefit from psychotherapy, hypnotherapy and EMDR, to rewire the brain.
