I collaborate with clients to discover what they want (and do not want) in their therapy experience, & honor their boundaries & autonomy. Therapy is a unique opportunity to be in relationship in new ways (with the therapist & ourselves), and allow ourselves to be supported in a space where no one needs anything from us. We co-create a space that is safe enough to allow us to feel more at ease, be more authentic & honest, and practice communicating & expressing ourselves differently. Everyone has different preferences and desires for how they feel therapy should be, & we try to adapt our work to that as much as we can. My wish for clients is that they will feel respected, believed, and that their therapist is rooting for them, & genuinely cares about their experience. As a therapy client myself, I know how daunting & difficult the process of searching for a therapist can feel, especially for folks who have had negative experiences in the past.
