James Darby

Registered Psychotherapist, Postgraduate Diploma Core Process Psychotherapy, DCHyp, ABSCH, MBA
Consulting from a private practice in Fulham and Chelsea in London, I employ a combination of mindfulness-based interventions and psychotherapy as a gateway to change, encouraging clients how to come into relationship with their own thoughts, feelings and habitual behaviours rather than wrestle with them. I believe therapy is a great gift that you give to your body, mind and soul- and that gift can improve all the relationships in your personal, work and family relationships. In essence, we want to move towards more ease and enjoyment. We can get curious about what you learnt growing up and in your life to date that created your world-view, your assumptions and even your body's responses to the situations you face. We will also open up new options for your responses so that you can be more authentically yourself within your world. This doesn't just involve thinking differently but being able to use the felt-sense in your body and nervous system. Often, I experience people coming to therapy with knowledge and self awareness but that thing doesn't seem to shift the problem- because it's deep in the body response system. We can work together with all of it, not just the logical mind but what's beneath that may be quietly running the show! I work with an integrative palette of approaches and tools, and share them with you in our conversations. We will work with thoughts and feelings as well as the responses of your body. When we start to shift what is available to our felt-sense, our perceptions and actions can shift dramatically. This is one of the things I love about the recent post-graduate training I've undertaken in Somatic Experiencing. I'm at the Advanced level of training in this method and it informs my approach to trauma, to neurodiversity and to relationships. I've also undertaken significant studies in ADHD and autism to help work with neurodivergence. I work with empathy, curiosity, compassion and respect for your intelligence and goals for yourself.

Registered Psychotherapist, Diploma Soul Centred Psychotherapy; MA(R.es) Cultural Studies; GradDip IT & Politics; BA(Hons)Human
You may have landed here because something no longer fits—an old story, a relationship, a way of being. Perhaps you’re tired of coping alone, of hiding the parts of you that feel too much, too sensitive, too complicated. I work with individuals who long for depth, authenticity, and a different way of relating to themselves and the world. I also work with professionals and executives who are navigating high levels of responsibility, internal pressure, or relational complexity, and who are seeking a deeper, more grounded way of being. My practice is grounded in Jungian, somatic, and trauma-informed approaches. Together, we listen for the deeper patterns, the quiet truths, the body’s wisdom, and the symbols that want to emerge. This work isn’t about fixing what’s broken—it’s about making space for what’s true. For what’s been silenced or buried. It’s about becoming more whole. I am an Australia-based psychotherapist offering online sessions to clients both locally and internationally. I work with individuals seeking depth-oriented, trauma-informed psychotherapy in a reflective, non-crisis setting. As I am registered in Australia, I do not provide emergency or crisis services. Clients are encouraged to have local support available if needed. If you’re ready to explore at your own pace—with compassion, honesty, and curiosity—I’m here. This work is best suited to those who are ready for reflective, insight-oriented psychotherapy rather than short-term or crisis-based support.
