Have you experienced sexual abuse? Having a supportive, confidential and trusted space to open up about this painful (and sometimes confusing) experience is fundamental to being able to process and move on from the abuse. Whether it's historical or something that happened recently, I support my clients to make sense of their experience and story so they can process what happened in a healthy way. Bendigo, Victoria therapist: Sebastian Kitchen, registered psychotherapist
Sexual Abuse

Sebastian Kitchen

Registered Psychotherapist, PACFA Reg. Certified Practising 32932
If you have experienced sexual abuse, it is important to know that you are not broken, wrong, tainted, unworthy. Sexual abuse, especially early in life or within families can have far reaching consequences in how we develop, see ourselves and show up in the world. Therapy can help you understand how your experiences have shaped you, and how you can respond with new understandings, a new perception of yourself and new ways of being. In working with sexual abuse, I use a tri-phasic trauma treatment model. The first phase (20 sessions) is purely around emotional stabilisation, safety, and development of internal and external resources. It is only after that where we might start to do any active work addressing the sexual abuse, and this is done in a very specific way so that the trauma in not relived without being processed and integrated.

Sexual Abuse

Christina Taylor Therapy

Registered Psychotherapist, Masters in Counselling, BA Psychology, BA Hons Literature Grad Diploma Education
As an abuse survivor I can relate to all who I have the privilege to meet and work with ,as we address the trauma involved with sexual abuse. It can take many years for the abuse to be able to be addressed - or it may have happened recently. I offer a safe space to look at the impact these events have had and to work through them to achieve a greater sexual and emotional connection with current or future partners - or merely to achieve a greater level of inner peace.
