Stuart Hellebrand, M.S., C.Ht.
Hypnotherapist
We've all heard the statement that "smoking kills". At the same time, many of us know someone who has fallen victim to damaging health consequences related to nicotine addiction. Hypnotherapy has proven to be a very successful modality at helping relevant clients become ex-smokers. A former client said it best when writing me the following: “You saved my life by helping me become a non-smoker. It sounds strange to say but I feel like I have two fathers: the one who first gave me life, and the one who gave me the rest of my life.” ~ Jim W.

Hypnotherapist, Certified Rapid Transformational Therapist
Smokers are often afraid of what will happen to them and what kinds of changes will occur if they quit smoking, and they might have one or more of these beliefs: 'I'm addicted to nicotine', 'It helps me cope with stress/weight/boredom', 'I'm not strong enough to quit or cope without it'. Using Rapid Transformational Therapy, a smoker is assisted to 'rewire' their mind to associate disgust or psychological pain toward smoking, as opposed to the desire to smoke. The need to have any addiction usually originates from an unconscious belief that a person does not feel like they are enough deep down. This belief is created by the mind based on experiences in a person's early life, making the brain think that an addiction can fill the need to feel enough. RTT gets to the root of the beliefs, where they can then be reframed, interrupted, released, then replaced with beneficial beliefs. A person's pattern of thought is changed by creating beliefs that are positive and empowering, to form a feeling of pleasure from breathing fresh air, saving money, becoming healthier, etc. The mind is being changed at the subconscious level, meaning that quitting does not require one's willpower alone (though some is needed). Ongoing support after the session will be available.

Green Bay is the smallest American city with a major professional sports franchise—the NFL's Green Bay Packers, uniquely community-owned and a profound source of civic identity and seasonal social cohesion—and its mental health landscape reflects both the strengths and challenges of a mid-size Midwestern industrial and paper mill city with a strong working-class character. The city has a significant and growing Hmong community, one of the largest in Wisconsin, descended from Southeast Asian refugees whose mental health needs include the specific trauma of the refugee experience, intergenerational cultural navigation, and the challenges of maintaining cultural identity in a predominantly white Midwestern city. Aurora BayCare Medical Center and Bellin Health provide behavioral health services, and a growing private therapy sector serves the evolving community. Common therapy concerns include Hmong refugee and intergenerational trauma, manufacturing and industrial workforce stress, seasonal depression in Wisconsin's long winters, family and relationship difficulties, and the mental health dimensions of a community whose civic identity is unusually bound up in a football team.
