Heinig Health and Wellness Counseling

Psychologist, Ph.D. Clinical Psychology, M.S. Health Psychology, M.A. Clinical Psychology, PSYPACT Providers
We provide evidence-based treatment for sleep disorders, including insomnia, nightmares, and related sleep disturbances that significantly impact daytime functioning and quality of life. Our approach is grounded in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I), which targets the cognitive, behavioral, and physiological factors that maintain sleep disruption. Our psychologists have received specialized training in CBT from sleep experts at the Philadelphia VA and the University of Pennsylvania, and we apply this expertise within a structured, individualized treatment framework. Therapy focuses on improving sleep efficiency, reducing maladaptive sleep-related patterns, and establishing sustainable routines that support long-term sleep health and overall wellness.

Alyssa Smyth

Psychologist, PhD
When sleep becomes unreliable, insomnia can quickly affect mood, concentration, and overall functioning. Many adults find themselves caught in a cycle where stress, racing thoughts, or irregular sleep patterns make it increasingly difficult to rest. I help clients identify the factors contributing to insomnia and develop practical strategies that support healthier, more consistent sleep.

Denver, Colorado therapist: Carrie Gauthier, hypnotherapist
Sleep Issues

Carrie Gauthier

Hypnotherapist, Certified Clinical Hypnotherapist, CCHt
Insomnia and sleep disorders can be one of the most challenging to bring back to harmony, especially after chronic trauma, abuse, or shedding addictions. This is often due to a seriously compromised and disregulated nervous system. This area is one I have much experience in and in addition to using custom session hypnosis recordings and sleep hypnosis recordings, I have an arsenal of tools to help those suffering from trouble falling asleep or staying asleep. We get there by examining the beliefs and emotions associated with the issue and possibly a hypnotic regression, if needed. There are other relaxation techniques we can use to help alleviate symptoms related to insomnia, like breathwork, pineal gland breathing, tapping, EMT, NLP, Gestalt, and more. Within the protocol is a goal to reset your nervous system, and we do this partly by programming in signals that show your nervous system it is safe to relax. We use emotional regulation commands and techniques to reinforce this. We can use the breathwork and hypnosis to quickly get you out of an agitated state (such as when you wake up with racing thoughts), through binaural synchronization of right and left sides of the brain from high Beta to Alpha then Delta brainwaves.
