I believe therapy is most effective when people feel genuinely seen, understood, and accepted. My approach blends evidence-based interventions with authenticity, curiosity, and a deep respect for each person's unique story. Rather than focusing solely on symptom reduction, I help clients better understand themselves, challenge the patterns that keep them stuck, and create meaningful, lasting change. Whether I'm working with clients, supervising clinicians, or speaking to other mental health professionals, my goal is the same: to foster authentic human connection as the foundation for healing.

Treatment Approach
- Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) One of the most widely used approaches, CBT helps people identify unhelpful thoughts and replace them with healthier patterns. It is effective for anxiety, depression, and many other concerns.
- Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) Combines CBT with mindfulness to help regulate emotions, tolerate stress, and build stronger relationships. Originally designed for borderline personality disorder, it’s now used more broadly.
- Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) A structured therapy that uses guided eye movements to help process traumatic memories. It is widely recognized for treating PTSD and trauma-related conditions.
- Integrative Therapy Combines techniques from multiple approaches into a customized plan. It adapts to each client’s unique situation and needs.
- Person-Centered Therapy (Rogerian) Emphasizes empathy, unconditional positive regard, and authenticity. It provides a safe space for self-discovery and growth.
- Relational Psychotherapy Emphasizes the healing power of the therapist-client relationship. It uses trust and safety as a foundation for change.
Approach Description: My approach to therapy is rooted in authenticity, collaboration, relationality, and evidence-based care. I believe meaningful change happens when clients feel safe enough to be fully themselves, without fear of judgment or the pressure to have everything figured out. I primarily draw from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), but integrate other evidence-based approaches to help clients better understand themselves, challenge unhelpful patterns, and build lasting resilience. Rather than following a rigid formula, I tailor therapy to each individual's unique experiences, strengths, and goals, recognizing that the therapeutic relationship itself is one of the most powerful catalysts for healing.
Sapphire Counseling recognizes that there is no one-size-fits-all approach to therapy. Our clinicians utilize an eclectic, client-centered approach, thoughtfully integrating evidence-based modalities based on each person's needs, preferences, and treatment goals. Depending on the individual, therapy may incorporate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Solution-Focused Therapy, mindfulness-based interventions, attachment-focused work, strengths-based approaches, and other clinically supported techniques. While every therapist has their own style and areas of expertise, we share a common commitment to providing compassionate, individualized care grounded in authenticity, collaboration, and meaningful human connection.
