What if the way you see yourself isn’t the truth—but a story shaped by past wounds? Our sense of self is shaped by early experiences, especially in relationships. If you grew up feeling unseen, unsafe, or unworthy, those feelings don’t just fade—they shape your choices, beliefs, and relationships. Maybe you struggle with anxiety, depression, people-pleasing, perfectionism, or self-doubt. These patterns didn’t come from nowhere—they were ways your mind and body learned to cope. But they don’t have to define you. Healing is possible. Using a relational, trauma-informed approach rooted in attachment theory, complex PTSD recovery, and memory reconsolidation, I help people rewrite the beliefs that keep them stuck. Therapy isn’t about fixing what’s "wrong"—it’s about understanding and transforming the impact of what’s happened to you. Together, we’ll explore the deeper patterns shaping your life, so you can move forward with clarity, confidence, and self-compassion—not just managing symptoms, but truly healing at the core. You deserve to feel safe, connected, and whole. If this resonates with you, let’s talk. Book a free consultation today.

Treatment Approach

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) One of the most widely used approaches, CBT helps people identify unhelpful thoughts and replace them with healthier patterns. It is effective for anxiety, depression, and many other concerns.
  • Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT) Builds skills in self-kindness and compassion toward others. It is especially helpful for people who struggle with shame or self-criticism.
  • Eclectic Therapy Draws from different therapeutic methods based on what fits each client best. It is flexible and personalized rather than following one single model.
  • Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) Focuses on strengthening emotional bonds in couples or families. It helps people identify negative cycles and create more secure connections.
  • Existential / Humanistic Therapy Encourages people to explore meaning, freedom, and authenticity in their lives. It focuses on personal growth and living in alignment with one’s values.
  • Experiential Therapy Involves hands-on activities to bring emotions into the present moment. It helps clients process feelings more deeply than through conversation alone.
  • Narrative Therapy Encourages people to view problems as separate from themselves and reframe their life story. It helps build resilience and self-identity.
  • Person-Centered Therapy (Rogerian) Emphasizes empathy, unconditional positive regard, and authenticity. It provides a safe space for self-discovery and growth.
  • Psychoeducational Therapy Provides education and coping tools about mental health conditions. It empowers clients with knowledge and practical skills.
Approach Description: I practice client-centred therapy. This means that my priority is connecting with you and making sure you feel heard and understood. The first step to changing things in our lives is understanding how they impact us and how we would like for them to be different. From there, we work on figuring out how to reach your goals in practical ways. After that, I provide support, encouragement, and guidance as you continue to work toward your goals.

At Memento Psychotherapy & Counselling, I work with adults and older adults through a compassionate, non-pathologizing lens. I believe your struggles are not signs of something "wrong" with you, but understandable responses to past experiences. My online practice is rooted in experiential and emotionally-focused therapies that go beyond surface-level symptom management. I draw from a wide range of approaches—including memory reconsolidation and somatic, attachment-based, and parts work—to support each person in uncovering the deeper patterns behind their challenges.
