I am a queer and trans RCC providing virtual therapy across BC.
I specialize in gender-affirming care, hormone readiness assessments in BC, and identity exploration. Whatever brings you to counselling, I am here to support you. Many come for gender-affirming counselling, transition support, and hormone readiness assessments. Others for trauma, depression, anxiety, BPD, anger, bipolar, or other difficulties that they need support around. ANY topic is welcome. During the free 15 minute consult, we will talk about what brings you to counselling and how I can help.
You can bring something specific, or you can start with the sense that something is off and we will work it out from there. Many times, our environments don’t support us in the way we need them to. I help to name the context rather than treating it as a problem arising within you. I always aim to offer you the support and respect you need.
Sometimes meeting a new counsellor can be nerve-wracking. I’m here to offer nonjudgemental compassion and care for whatever is going on for you. No matter your identity or your beliefs, you are welcome here!

Treatment Approach
- Adlerian Therapy Focuses on understanding a person’s sense of belonging and purpose. It helps people overcome feelings of inferiority and create healthier relationships.
- Art Therapy Uses creative activities like drawing, painting, or sculpture as a way to express emotions. It is especially helpful when words are hard to find.
- Person-Centered Therapy (Rogerian) Emphasizes empathy, unconditional positive regard, and authenticity. It provides a safe space for self-discovery and growth.
- Relational Psychotherapy Emphasizes the healing power of the therapist-client relationship. It uses trust and safety as a foundation for change.
- Somatic Therapy Helps clients notice how emotions are stored in the body. It uses breath, movement, and awareness for healing trauma and stress.
Approach Description: Person-centred counselling starts from the idea that you are the authority on your own life. My role is to provide a compassionate, nonjudgemental environment that supports your values.
In practice, this often means following your direction and working on your goals, being genuine with you, offering nonjudgemental care no matter what you share, and checking in with you.
Somatic work, including somatic trauma therapy, pays attention to what is happening in your body — tension, breath, temperature — alongside what is being said.
In practice, this often means noticing your internal sensations, working in small amounts, offering optional suggestions that can help release tension, respecting your boundaries, and leaving the pace entirely with you.
You are welcome to ask questions about this at any time.
Creative and expressive work in counselling uses images, movement, sound, writing, or making as part of the work. It can be useful when words have started to feel like they are not the right tool.
In practice, this often means offering creative methods as one option among several, leaving any meaning-making to you rather than interpreting your work, focusing on the process, and it does not require any artistic experience or skill. This is always optional, and many people never use it.

My work is queer and trans-affirming, trauma-informed, anti-oppressive, and decolonial. Here is what each of those means in a session.
Queer and trans-affirming means I do not require you to justify your identity, and I do not treat it as the cause of everything else in your life. If gender or sexuality is what you want to work on, we can absolutely work on it. If it is not, we can focus on what is most important and relevant to you.
Trauma-informed means we go at a pace you set. I aim to pay close attention to where your boundaries are in each moment so that we can respect them and I understand that living with trauma can be incredibly challenging. I encourage you and support you in living in your values and aim to create a nonjudgemental, welcoming environment for all parts of you.
Anti-oppressive means that when what you are dealing with is coming from outside you — a workplace, a family, a healthcare system, a landlord — I help to name that rather than treating it as a distortion in your thinking or a problem with you. If you are feeling it, it’s real.
Decolonial means that I hold that distress lives in bodies, relationships, histories, and land, not only in individuals. I hold Western clinical models as one of many legitimate ways of understanding what is happening.
When you book a consult, we will spend about 15 minutes getting to know one another and we will talk about what brings you to counselling. We use video call on the same secure platform we use for sessions, so you can find out whether this feels like a fit before you make a commitment.
Here is what happens: You pick a time online. There are no forms to fill in beforehand and no payment details required. Booking takes about 2 minutes. We ask what brings you in, what you are hoping counselling might do for you, and whether you have tried counselling before. You share as much or as little as you want to. You ask me anything — how I work, what experience I have with what you are bringing, fees, availability, scheduling, or anything else that matters to you. If you would like to go ahead, we book a first session and I email you the intake paperwork. Typically, this paperwork takes 3-10 minutes to complete. We will also go over it with you in the first few minutes of our first session. Please let me know if paperwork is a barrier for you and we can do it together.
