Treatment Approach
- Existential / Humanistic Therapy Encourages people to explore meaning, freedom, and authenticity in their lives. It focuses on personal growth and living in alignment with one’s values.
- Interpersonal Therapy (IPT) A short-term approach focused on improving relationships and social support. It is often used for depression and grief.
- Narrative Therapy Encourages people to view problems as separate from themselves and reframe their life story. It helps build resilience and self-identity.
- Psychodynamic Therapy Explores unconscious thoughts and patterns that influence current behavior. It builds insight into how the past impacts the present.
Approach Description: I truly believe that therapeutic relationships can offer a curative and healing space, and that "a different therapy must be constructed for each patient because each has a unique story" (Irvin D. Yalom). I believe that “psychologists help people of all ages live happier, healthier, and more productive lives" (American Psychological Association) and see therapy as involving "the skilled and principled use of relationship to facilitate self-knowledge, emotional acceptance and growth, and the optimal development of personal resources" (Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association).
