My practice offers a thoughtful, grounded approach to therapy that blends over 20 years of clinical experience with practical, real-life strategies for change. I focus on creating a space that is both supportive and straightforward—where you can explore what’s not working, gain clarity, and build tools that actually translate into your daily life. If you’re feeling stuck, overwhelmed, anxious, or navigating a significant transition, reaching out is a meaningful first step—I’d be glad to connect and see if working together feels like a good fit.

Treatment Approach

  • Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT) Helps people accept difficult thoughts and feelings instead of fighting them, while committing to actions that reflect their values. It blends mindfulness with practical behavior strategies.
  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) One of the most widely used approaches, CBT helps people identify unhelpful thoughts and replace them with healthier patterns. It is effective for anxiety, depression, and many other concerns.
  • Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) Combines CBT with mindfulness to help regulate emotions, tolerate stress, and build stronger relationships. Originally designed for borderline personality disorder, it’s now used more broadly.
  • Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) Focuses on strengthening emotional bonds in couples or families. It helps people identify negative cycles and create more secure connections.
  • Gottman Method Couples Therapy Based on decades of research, this method gives couples tools to improve communication, manage conflict, and strengthen intimacy.
  • Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) Focuses on solutions and future goals rather than past problems. It is practical, short-term, and goal-driven.
Approach Description: My therapeutic approach is eclectic and integrative, meaning I draw from a range of evidence-based modalities to best fit each client’s unique needs, goals, and circumstances. Rather than relying on a single framework, I tailor the work to what is most helpful for you in the moment, while also keeping a longer-term focus on meaningful and sustainable change. Depending on what we are working on together, this may include elements of cognitive-behavioural approaches to support patterns of thinking and behaviour, trauma-informed practices to help process and integrate difficult experiences, and strengths-based or solution-focused strategies to build on what is already working in your life. I also incorporate relational and reflective approaches, with attention to how past experiences, relationships, and current stressors may be influencing your present-day challenges. I see therapy as a collaborative process, and I am intentional about adapting my approach as we learn more about what is most effective for you. Some clients benefit from a more structured, skills-based focus, while others find value in a slower, more exploratory process. Many benefit from a combination of both. I work flexibly, adjusting pace and focus to support both insight and practical application. At the centre of my work is the belief that there is no single “right” way to do therapy. Instead, I aim to meet you where you are, drawing on a broad clinical toolkit to support emotional regulation, self-understanding, resilience, and real-life change. My goal is to ensure that the approach we use together is responsive, relevant, and aligned with your needs rather than fitting you into a predetermined model.
