Treatment Approach

  • Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT) Helps people accept difficult thoughts and feelings instead of fighting them, while committing to actions that reflect their values. It blends mindfulness with practical behavior strategies.
  • Behavioral Therapy Uses learning techniques like reinforcement and practice to change unwanted behaviors. It is often applied to phobias, anxiety, and habits.
  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) One of the most widely used approaches, CBT helps people identify unhelpful thoughts and replace them with healthier patterns. It is effective for anxiety, depression, and many other concerns.
  • Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) A structured therapy that uses guided eye movements to help process traumatic memories. It is widely recognized for treating PTSD and trauma-related conditions.
  • Integrative Therapy Combines techniques from multiple approaches into a customized plan. It adapts to each client’s unique situation and needs.
  • Narrative Therapy Encourages people to view problems as separate from themselves and reframe their life story. It helps build resilience and self-identity.
  • Play Therapy Uses toys, games, and creative play to help children express emotions. It is especially useful when children can’t fully verbalize their feelings.
  • Psychoeducational Therapy Provides education and coping tools about mental health conditions. It empowers clients with knowledge and practical skills.
  • Somatic Therapy Helps clients notice how emotions are stored in the body. It uses breath, movement, and awareness for healing trauma and stress.
Approach Description: My approach is combination of compassionate support, teaching practical strategies, and exploring and processing through deeper emotions and issues. I have a deep and practical understanding of trauma and how it affects people. I adopt a flexible, integrated approach to give you treatment that is tailor-made and feels natural and respectful as we work together to help you get your life back. When working with parents and/or children, I will work with you to figure out what your child child needs and how to meet those needs. I maintain a flexible framework that adapts to each person and family according to their needs. I have a deep and broad knowledge of trauma and childhood issues, and the strategies that help. My knowledge and clinical skills come from practical experience with children in addition to my education and clinical training.

Jennifer Cain Practice Description
I like to begin by getting to know you and learning more about you, and if applicable, your child and family. Then we will work together as a team to address the things you are concerned about. I provide individual therapy to people of all ages tailoring a program specifically for you and your needs. I specialize in trauma. Therapy is done through a trauma-informed lens, and is designed to bring you relief and peace. With empathy and compassion, I will guide you toward growth, integration, and greater confidence. If your child as experienced something upsetting, I partner with you so you know how to effectively help your child at home and in other environments. Work with children can include art, stories, puppets, etc. and can address emotions, behavior, thoughts, skill building, and problem-solving. If your child is not comfortable interacting with me online, I can just work with you as the parent to help your child, or I can work with you together.
