Many of the women I work with are capable, caring, and used to holding everything together, even when it comes at the cost of their own bandwidth. From the outside, life may look steady, but internally there can be tension, exhaustion, or a quiet sense of disconnection. I offer trauma informed, relational therapy for women who are ready to understand themselves more deeply and find a way of living that feels more sustainable. My work is grounded in attachment and nervous system awareness, and I approach therapy as a collaborative process rooted in genuine conversation rather than quick fixes. If you are looking for a space where you can show up honestly and feel met as a whole person, I invite you to connect for a consultation.

Treatment Approach

  • Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT) Helps people accept difficult thoughts and feelings instead of fighting them, while committing to actions that reflect their values. It blends mindfulness with practical behavior strategies.
  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) One of the most widely used approaches, CBT helps people identify unhelpful thoughts and replace them with healthier patterns. It is effective for anxiety, depression, and many other concerns.
  • Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) An evidence-based treatment for PTSD that teaches clients to reframe unhelpful thoughts about trauma. It helps reduce guilt, shame, and fear.
  • Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT) Builds skills in self-kindness and compassion toward others. It is especially helpful for people who struggle with shame or self-criticism.
  • Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) Focuses on strengthening emotional bonds in couples or families. It helps people identify negative cycles and create more secure connections.
  • Existential / Humanistic Therapy Encourages people to explore meaning, freedom, and authenticity in their lives. It focuses on personal growth and living in alignment with one’s values.
  • Feminist Therapy Addresses how gender roles, power, and social inequality affect mental health. It empowers clients to challenge limiting beliefs and systems.
  • Internal Family Systems (IFS) Helps clients heal by working with different ‘parts’ of themselves, like inner critics or wounded children. It fosters harmony within the self.
  • Interpersonal Therapy (IPT) A short-term approach focused on improving relationships and social support. It is often used for depression and grief.
  • Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) Combines mindfulness practices with CBT to prevent depression relapse. It helps people notice thoughts without judgment and respond more calmly.
  • Motivational Interviewing (MI) A collaborative, client-centered approach that strengthens motivation for change. It is especially effective for addictions and health behaviors.
  • Person-Centered Therapy (Rogerian) Emphasizes empathy, unconditional positive regard, and authenticity. It provides a safe space for self-discovery and growth.
  • Psychodynamic Therapy Explores unconscious thoughts and patterns that influence current behavior. It builds insight into how the past impacts the present.
  • Relational Psychotherapy Emphasizes the healing power of the therapist-client relationship. It uses trust and safety as a foundation for change.
  • Somatic Therapy Helps clients notice how emotions are stored in the body. It uses breath, movement, and awareness for healing trauma and stress.
Approach Description: My approach to therapy is relational, trauma informed, and grounded in attachment and nervous system awareness. I see connection as a central part of the human experience. The ways we connect with others, and with ourselves, often shape how we cope, respond to stress, and move through the world. In our work together, we explore not just what you are experiencing, but how your patterns developed and how they continue to serve a purpose in your life today. Rather than focusing on quick solutions, I prioritize understanding, pacing, and collaboration. Therapy becomes a space to notice patterns, build awareness, and experiment with new ways of relating to yourself and others. The goal is to create meaningful shifts that support more flexible, sustainable ways of living and connecting.

Kelsey Ellis Practice Description
I offer fully online, trauma informed therapy for women navigating the layered demands of modern life. Many of my clients are balancing careers, caregiving, relationships, and expectations while quietly carrying a heavy internal load. They are often thoughtful and capable people who have learned to function through stress or past experiences without always having the space to reflect on what those patterns mean or how they continue to shape the present. Therapy with me is designed to feel thoughtful, collaborative, and grounded in real life. Together, we create space to slow down, make sense of what has felt overwhelming or confusing, and explore new ways of relating to yourself that feel more sustainable. Because this work is offered via telehealth, it is built to fit into the realities of everyday life. Online sessions allow for meaningful depth without the added pressure of travel or logistical strain, and I offer evening appointments to better accommodate the demands of work, parenting, and full schedules. The focus is not on fixing you, but on supporting a way of living that feels more aligned and manageable over time.
