Logan Williamson (He/Him)

Counselor/Therapist, LPC
 therapist: Logan Williamson,
In-Person in Dallas, TX 75225
Online in Louisiana, Texas
People come to me because I'm an expert in working with professionals who are neurodivergent. My style is direct and empathetic. I oftentimes have patients come through and tell me that they've been to therapy with other clinicians, and this work feels very different - in a good way. Of course, listening is an important part of being a therapist; however, I haven't spent all these years going to school, learning from my experience, and being a lifelong learner to keep helpful information from you. We will work to build off of your past successes, lean on your strengths, and incorporate science into the change that you want to make. Give me a call if you're looking for something different, are ready to make a change, and don't want to have to explain how your brain works for the first 4 sessions.

Treatment Approach

  • Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT) Helps people accept difficult thoughts and feelings instead of fighting them, while committing to actions that reflect their values. It blends mindfulness with practical behavior strategies.
  • Behavioral Therapy Uses learning techniques like reinforcement and practice to change unwanted behaviors. It is often applied to phobias, anxiety, and habits.
  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) One of the most widely used approaches, CBT helps people identify unhelpful thoughts and replace them with healthier patterns. It is effective for anxiety, depression, and many other concerns.
  • Existential / Humanistic Therapy Encourages people to explore meaning, freedom, and authenticity in their lives. It focuses on personal growth and living in alignment with one’s values.
  • Family Systems Therapy Looks at problems within the context of the family as a whole. It aims to improve communication and balance in family relationships.
  • Gestalt Therapy Encourages awareness of thoughts, feelings, and actions in the present moment. It helps people integrate different parts of themselves for wholeness.
  • Integrative Therapy Combines techniques from multiple approaches into a customized plan. It adapts to each client’s unique situation and needs.
  • Motivational Interviewing (MI) A collaborative, client-centered approach that strengthens motivation for change. It is especially effective for addictions and health behaviors.
  • Neuropsychology Examines how brain function affects thinking, memory, and behavior. It often involves assessment and rehabilitation strategies.
  • Person-Centered Therapy (Rogerian) Emphasizes empathy, unconditional positive regard, and authenticity. It provides a safe space for self-discovery and growth.
  • Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) Focuses on solutions and future goals rather than past problems. It is practical, short-term, and goal-driven.
Approach Description: Therapy here has an order to it. We start by building a working relationship, because the research shows that if we don't have a relationship, then change cannot even begin. Then we work to address the most immediate symptoms. Cognitive Behavioral work is useful here, but that can only get us halfway there. Once you have your head above water, we can look at the systems that keep the problem reoccurring and work to modify the environment to guard against backsliding. Multiculturalism is not a bad word here. In the therapy context, it can certainly mean your background, your skin color, and who you have sex with. However, it can also mean the parts of yourself that you refuse to give status to. The ones that you don't want to listen to, even though they shout over and over again that they matter. I'll try to be the change here and actively ignore my inner grammar nazi because he hates ending sentences that strand a preposition. Coincidentally, humor certainly has a place during therapy. I'm also comfortable taking calculated risks. Like trusting you to laugh at combining multicultural talk and grammar nazis.

Logan Williamson Practice Description
I've tried to make my practice a comfortable place for the people that I treat. I prefer the online space because my patients are able to make appointments more consistently, be in a space that suits their sensory needs, and they are able to make progress quicker for it. However, if you live in Dallas and prefer to meet in person, I share office space with a beautiful practice in Preston Center. Sessions run about an hour. I like to meet weekly for the first two or three, because the early work is understanding your needs and coming up with a solid plan we both agree will work. After that, many of my patients move to every other week. Life has to happen between sessions. I do not offer psychological testing nor do I prescribe medications; however, I have experience working alongside prescribers and performing/interpreting psychological testing. If you have questions about either, I can help you formulate the right questions to ask. An individual session is $200 and a couples session is $250. I do not bill insurance directly, so you pay me and I give you a superbill to submit to your plan for out of network reimbursement, and the paperwork I send will not be the reason a claim gets denied. I see patients online anywhere in Texas and in person in Preston Center here in Dallas. The first consultation is free.
