You’re smart, driven, and holding it together on the outside... yet your body keeps whispering that something isn’t right. Maybe it’s stress, maybe it’s “just how you are,” or maybe it’s old experiences you’ve spent years outrunning. You live in your head, can push through everything, but still feel stuck and disconnected from yourself in ways you can’t quite explain. My practice specializes in high-functioning women carrying the often-unseen impact of sexual trauma—especially how it shows up in stress, boundaries, relationships, and the pressure to overperform. Using mind–body–emotion integration and grounded, honest conversations, I help you shift out of survival mode and into a way of living that’s sustainable, steady, and actually feels like you.

Session Format: Individual sessions.

Treatment Approach

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) One of the most widely used approaches, CBT helps people identify unhelpful thoughts and replace them with healthier patterns. It is effective for anxiety, depression, and many other concerns.
  • Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) Combines CBT with mindfulness to help regulate emotions, tolerate stress, and build stronger relationships. Originally designed for borderline personality disorder, it’s now used more broadly.
  • Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) Focuses on strengthening emotional bonds in couples or families. It helps people identify negative cycles and create more secure connections.
  • Integrative Therapy Combines techniques from multiple approaches into a customized plan. It adapts to each client’s unique situation and needs.
  • Internal Family Systems (IFS) Helps clients heal by working with different ‘parts’ of themselves, like inner critics or wounded children. It fosters harmony within the self.
  • Neuropsychology Examines how brain function affects thinking, memory, and behavior. It often involves assessment and rehabilitation strategies.
  • Sandplay Therapy Uses sand trays and miniature figures to allow symbolic expression. It is especially helpful for children and trauma survivors.
  • Somatic Therapy Helps clients notice how emotions are stored in the body. It uses breath, movement, and awareness for healing trauma and stress.

Rebekkah Stainton Practice Description
My practice supports high-functioning women who feel overwhelmed, tense, or disconnected even when life looks “fine.” Many of my clients arrive saying things like “I shouldn’t be this overwhelmed” or “other people have been through worse,” while quietly dealing with stress, anxiety, chronic tension, perfectionism, people-pleasing, or emotional disconnection. What we often discover together is that their mind has learned to push forward while their body has been carrying the impact of sexual trauma, stress, or relational wounds for years. Our work together will be focused and practical. We will reconnect your mind, body, and emotions, identify the patterns that keep you in survival mode, and create strategies that actually shift how you feel and function. I use somatic therapy, nervous-system work, and grounded, evidence-based approaches to support real change not just insight. Humour is part of my style. Not to deflect, but to give you space to breathe so you can look at the hard things without feeling overwhelmed. Sometimes a light moment helps the truth land in a way that feels manageable, human, and honest. My approach is warm, direct, and collaborative. I won’t just listen. I’ll help you understand what’s happening, why it makes sense, and how to build a steadier, more sustainable way of living. The goal isn’t to dull your ambition; it’s to help you pursue it without burning out or disconnecting from yourself. If you want clarity, stronger boundaries, and a life that feels like you again, this is a space where you can settle, reflect, and rebuild with support.
