I have nearly 20 years of experience working with clients of all ages on a range of issues including relationship challenges, anxiety, depression, grief and loss, trauma and PTSD, self-esteem, shame, disordered eating and stress related to toxic work and family environments. Many of my clients are survivors of physical, sexual and/or narcissistic abuse. These painful experiences require courage and compassion to heal from. Every person has the ability to grow, heal, and thrive. Life's challenges can lead us to lose hope or to believe that we are broken or damaged, but this is untrue! Our true nature and potential may seem absent or hidden but it is there and it cannot be destroyed. By uncovering and rediscovering our strengths and abilities, we can overcome challenges, find meaning and purpose, and live more fulfilling lives. Through the self-discovery process we can learn to find understanding and compassion for even the most feared and hated parts of ourselves. My practice is LGBTQIA+ affirming.

Approach Description: I believe that each client's path to healing is unique . As a result, I feel it is important to offer a variety of techniques and methods so that we can customize your treatment and find the most helpful and healing strategies. Among the methods I draw from are EMDR - a therapeutic method extensively researched and proven effective for the treatment of trauma. It works with both our mind and body to make sense of traumatic events and help leave them in the past where they no longer interfere with our lives. IFS - a therapeutic method based on a belief that all of us have many different internal parts. When we heal the most vulnerable parts of ourselves, we can let go of unhelpful strategies and problematic behaviors. Mindfulness - a therapeutic method that allows us to gain clarity about our actions and behaviors and discover the calm, compassionate parts of ourselves through techniques such as grounding, guided imagery and meditation. Sandplay - a Jungian method which offers the opportunity for clients of any age to use their imagination and experience parts of themselves that may be avoided under other circumstances. Though originally developed as a way to reach children, sandplay can also be extremely effective with adults. This creative process is a great means of exploration and expression.
