I’m a Calgary counselling therapist specializing in supporting women through midlife transitions, including menopause, trauma recovery, anxiety, and personal growth. I help clients navigate grief, identity shifts, relationship challenges, and feelings of being stuck or overwhelmed, so they can rediscover purpose and create a more meaningful life. My own healing journey began in my 50s, so I deeply understand what it’s like to reach midlife and realize something needs to change. Midlife isn’t too late, it’s a powerful time for healing, self-reflection, and stepping into a more authentic version of yourself.

Treatment Approach

  • Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) A trauma-focused therapy that uses eye movements and imagery to help the brain reframe distressing memories. It often leads to quicker relief from symptoms compared to traditional talk therapy.
  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) One of the most widely used approaches, CBT helps people identify unhelpful thoughts and replace them with healthier patterns. It is effective for anxiety, depression, and many other concerns.
  • Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) An evidence-based treatment for PTSD that teaches clients to reframe unhelpful thoughts about trauma. It helps reduce guilt, shame, and fear.
  • Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) Combines mindfulness practices with CBT to prevent depression relapse. It helps people notice thoughts without judgment and respond more calmly.
  • Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) Focuses on solutions and future goals rather than past problems. It is practical, short-term, and goal-driven.
Approach Description: I primarily work within Acceptance and Commitment therapy, Solutions-Focused and Mindfulness-based approaches. I believe these modalities can guide us to what is important to you and promote lasting change. I also believe laughter, nature, good sleep, nutrition, and quality relationships all play vital roles to good mental health and I provide guidance in these areas as needed.
