Codependency often develops from a deep desire to care for others, yet it can leave you feeling emotionally exhausted, disconnected from your own needs, and unsure of who you are outside of your relationships. Together, we'll explore the experiences and patterns that have shaped these dynamics, helping you develop healthier boundaries, greater self-awareness, and stronger self-worth. If you are a heart-centred, empathic woman, you might have challenges setting healthy boundaries with people and could be stuck in fawning, pleasing, and appeasing patterns to feel safe and connected. I can support you in defining your values and setting either flexible or non-negotiable boundaries, depending on the circumstances. I can help you move through self-doubt and into your authentic self-expression. The therapy that I offer is in-depth and often involves going back to the inner child, where your inner defense patterns and relationship patterns began, to initiate deep emotional healing and safety.

Dr. Ryan Kitts Schallon
Psychologist, PsyD
Codependency is not loving too much. It is having learned, very early, that your survival depended on monitoring someone else's emotional weather — that your needs were safest when they were invisible, even to you. The exhaustion of it is real. So is the terror of stopping. Therapy is not about learning to stop caring for others. It is about recovering the self that went underground in order to make all that caretaking possible.

Julien Moe
Hypnotherapist, Diploma in Clinical and Applied Hypnosis, Diploma in Life Coaching
Patients with this disorder are getting resilient in no time. I get their habit disorder treated by my Dicit hyptherapy and clinical hypnosis. How Hypnotherapy Treats Codependency: Hypnotherapy works to change underlying, often subconscious, beliefs such as "I am only valuable if I am helping others" or "I must fix my partner's problems".Setting Boundaries: It helps individuals establish healthy emotional boundaries and gain the confidence to say "no" without guilt. Addressing Root Causes: By relaxing the mind, therapists can access memories or traumas that triggered the codependent behavior to foster emotional healing. Building Self-Esteem: Hypnotherapy helps individuals reconnect with their own needs, interests, and identity outside of the relationship.

Codependent relationships are often described as being marked by intimacy problems, dependency, control (including caretaking), denial, dysfunctional communication and boundaries, and high reactivity. There may be imbalance within the relationship, where one person is abusive or in control or supports or enables another person's addiction, poor mental health, immaturity, irresponsibility, or under-achievement.
Under this conception of codependency, the codependent person's sense of purpose within a relationship is based on making extreme sacrifices to satisfy their partner's needs. Codependent relationships signify a degree of unhealthy "clinginess" and needy behavior, where one person does not have self-sufficiency or autonomy. One or both parties depend on their loved one for fulfillment. The mood and emotions of the codependent are often determined by how they think other individuals perceive them (especially loved ones). This perception is self-inflicted and often leads to clingy, needy behavior which can hurt the health of the relationship.
Addressing codependency in one's life can be very freeing and is the key for many in establishing and defining a healthy relationship with self and others.

Dr. Stéphanie Gamache, PhD
Hypnotherapist, PhD
Codependency often reflects early relational patterns in which emotional needs, boundaries, and self-worth became entangled with the needs of others. My work integrates psychoanalytic exploration and somatic awareness to understand how these patterns continue to shape adult relationships. Together, we work toward greater emotional autonomy, clarity, and the capacity to remain connected to oneself while being close to others.
